Does anyone with a Mazda 3 Sport have any advice on a dog cage/fence/divder for the hatch area. They are used to keep a dog in the hatch area and not allow him/her to jump over the back seat.

Some look like this (http://www.petwithpetcare.com/suv-dog-barrier.jpg) and or like this. (http://www.petplanet.co.uk/shop_dev/assets/new_product_images/hicraft/dog_guard.jpg)

Looking for any advice if anyone has one for their car.

Thanks.

what kind of dog? is he/she hyper all the time? I would choose the first one, however, that might obstruct your view a tiny bit.
I know for my dogs, they would tear right through the first one and i've got poodle/terrier mix.

I would recommend a cargo tray and a fence. I guess it would all depend on how your dog behaves in the car.

I have a Shiba Inu. He is still a puppy and right now rides in the car mostly in my Fianncee's lap. When he is older we will likely have him ride in the back.

When the time comes, his behavior in the car will play a factor in the design (a simple blocking of passage by a few bars or some impenetrable wall).

Thanks for the input but it doesn't sound like either of you have used one in the M3 yourself...?

You could put one of these Portable Kennels in the back instead.

It would be safer for the dog in an accident also.
