I wanna get a heavy weighted (400g+) knob. I think I've got it down to three choices, but I'd like any personal input if you've used any before. Also, if you've got a recommendation, I'm all ears.

As well, what do people do for socks? I understand that all metal ones get damn hot/cold. Any good pre-made leather ones or just grab an old sock, litterially, and use that.

Skunk2 ($70CAD shipped)

MSP stock shifter ($60USD, $~80USD shipped)

TWM Type R ($100USD, I think it's like $~140CAD shipped)
Satin or Flat Black

I've read some reviews/opinions on M3F and various other places and seems like alot of people are happy with the Skunk2. I couldn't find a definitive number of the weight of the MSP one, I assume it's heavier then stock knobs which are about 260'ish grams. If any sponsors got any deals/hookups (with these 3), let me know. I didn't buy a knob at the time with my TWM SS so I already know about that one with TWM.

I love my MSP knob. Only thing is you need to mess around with it a bit to get it to screw on properly. Well worth it IMO though. And you just need to grab the leather middle to avoid freezing you hand off.

I've got the TWM SS with the stock knob. You don't need a weighted knob IMO.

But if you are getting it straight for aesthetics, then the skunk looks best.

But nothing looks better than the stock leather knob on the 2006, IMO.

+1 I have the same setup.

Stock is king.

Yeah that's what I've got now, stocker on TWM. No problems with it, wouldn't mind something alittle more sporty. Now the Skunk2 looks great, and the price is reasonable. That would be my #1 choice.

I have the Type R knob in satin finish. It looks really sweet but does get cold in the winter since it is metal and all.

Perfect, thanks! I kinda want the TWM but it is a tad expensive and I should of gotten the package deal at the time.
Pictures are great since I've got the same colour stitching on my boot.

I run the TWM short shifter and Mazda Accessory 5 spd shift knob....this knob is pretty heavy, overall I love the setup...

For my vote, I would go with the TWM and the OEM MSP Shift knob....

nice clean OEM Setup

TypeR flat black IMO

See i'd go for it but its twice the price of the Skunk2. I think once spring comes I'm going to pull the trigger on a Skunk2. The cold right now, makes me really appreciate the stock leather one I have now.

From the 4 that you posted I like the Skunk2 and the TWM satin finish the best. Get both and switch it up depending on how you feel that day!

I would agree with keeping it simple...

So with that in mind...

My vote goes too:

TWM Short shifter + OEM MSP stock shifter (and if possible, black leather shift boot)

hahaha okay guys. Thanks for all the input.
Those who didn't see, I already got the TWM flat black type R (similar to Skunk2).
They had a sale on and figured why not.
