Hey guys as the title states, is there a way to adjusting the sensitivity of the automatic headlights? When i'm driving home from work sometimes i wish they would come on earlier. Now i know i can always just turn em on myself but i was still curious. Thanks.

theres no way unless you can stick some darker sticker (logo sticker ect....) on the top portion of windshelf glass where the sensor located.

Isn't the thing at the top of the glass, behind the mirror, for the auto wipers?

That's for both auto head light and auto wipers.
I thought I read in the manual that the dealer can adjust the sensitivity but I maybe I dreamt it.

You didn't dream it, it is mentioned in the Owner's Manual.

Yup the sensitivity can be adjusted by the Mazda WDS(computer). There are 2 settings "standard" and "low".

So whats the difference in the two? I assume that mine would be set to standard straight from the factory. And would the low mean its more or less sensitive? And thanks for letting us know. Its good having a service guy right here in the forum.

I don't understand the last part of your post. What do you mean by, "now he chang that back already."

I think he means his friend tried the low setting and had it put back to standard, ...it probably didn't work too well in low, is what I would figure.
I like the way the lights come on under bridges, it gets the asshats off your rear sometimes:chuckle

x2, thats what i mean. now he put a logo sticker on, that works better. but it seems has rain sensor problem now -- not sensitivie enough.
IMO, the default setting is fine, light turns on when its needed. why do you need to change it?

I just wish they came on a little bit earlier. Although come summer time it wont matter as much as i wont be driving just as the sun is going down.

I think its fun and cool when lights turn on by them selves. My autolights dont come on under bridges. But I do find that on sunsets when you drive its a little slow on turning on

Mine is vice versa. If it is in AUTO my headlights won't turn off even when it's really sunny. they will turn off eventually or if I restart the car. Don't really know what to do.
The ONLY time I've noticed my headlights turning on(during day time), is under the bridge of 401 east when your getting of to go north on Yonge. Its a fairly long curved bridge for about 50 meters.
