BMW returns to ALMS
Oh. My. God.
This is the sensational new BMW M3 race car, designed and built to compete in the American Le Mans series this year. Does funny things to your man-gland, doesn't it?
The new race car, unveiled yesterday at the Chicago Motor Show, will compete under the banner of Rahal Letterman Racing and marks BMW's return to the ALMS. Rahal Letterman Racing won 15 times between 1999 and 2001, including six consecutive victories in 2001 and a Petit Le Mans title.
RLR will field two of the V8-engined cars, and although the spec hasn't been released, expect the car to be quick with a capital F.
The 2008 ALMS kicks off at Sebring for the 12 hour race on March 15.
