I just recently signed up for Rogers' new $7 unlimited web browsing plan for my cell phone. It's limited to the built-in browser, so I can't use Opera Mini without incurring overage charges.

Anyway, mazda3forums has a WAP-friendly site for mobile phones. Could the TM3 site not be set up for this also? I tried visiting this site through my WAP browser and it's terrible.

an interesting idea. I just have no idea how to make it happen. I will do some research though.

Yeah but there are tons of crappy conditions. You can't use 3rd party apps like Opera Mini or Google Maps - you have to use the built-in browser in the phone. You can't use a phone that wasn't bought from Rogers (i.e., unlocked phone from somewhere else). And "smart" phones like Blackberries and PDA phones are ineligible.

Cool. This is all I can ask for!

BTW, HowardForums has the best WAP-friendly version of their forums that I've seen.

Yeah it's pretty freaking stupid. Rogers is getting some bad publicity by this new plan:

unfortunately we live in Canada and we are the worst when it comes to data rates?

I think there was a petition that was going around to the MP's

Anyway here is a write up about the rates for Canada vs Other countries carriers

http://www.thomaspurves.com/2007/04/09/canada-worse-than-3rd-world-countries-when-it-comes-to-mobile-data-access/

Unfortunately if you buy a PDA, Blackberry or iPhone, they think you have enough money to pay their rates.

Anyone know of a 3rd party WAP browser for PocketPC's Blackberry's or iPhones(if u can install apps)?

Data is starting to become a more accessible commodity. Telus has/had $15 unlimited untethered data, Bell has unlimited data via an HTC touch, Rogers/Fido has unlimited browsing for $15. Its a step in the right direction I guess...
