View Full Version : What's your opinion? (Corolla Advertising)
Is it obvious that Toyota has a ton of money? All I see on TV these days are corolla commercials. As I business student I actually enjoy analyzing commercials from companies, but these Toyota commercials are numerous and they are on allll the time. With marketing like this, the corolla will have an image once again. Not cool.
Opinions?

Yeah, I've noticed that too but I'm not much bothered by it. I'm more pissed off at seeing all the Chevy Malibu commercials.

I personally don't really care. The Corolla is a solid car. It may not appeal to the younger crowd, but it certainly does have a place in the market.
I like the new Malibu. To be honest GM is ok. They are finally doing some good work on their products. The just need the image.
How about the Saturn commercial that states that Saturn's are not kewl so you should buy one!!! hahaha stupid commercial...

Even more annoying is the stupid Ford commercials with the dumb caveman. Especially at the beginning when it pulls up beside a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T. Fawk I'd rather drive a classic than a fusion/focus any day.

They really need to work on their interiors, but I like it too...they have also come a long way on thier 'initial' reliability issues. But I'll tell ya for really long term vehicle ownership their hard to beat.

Yea they're a little gay, not gonna lie. The women in the car with him make the commercial though :chuckle

Oh agreed. The price of cars compared to what you get is amazing. Especially lately with the horsepower figures per dollar in their cars.
.
Its not so much the commercial itself but the fact that toyota is really pushing the frequency of the commercials.

I agree with you, they are on a lot. But that's the idea they are pushing the car, I have to agree with Skarbro they aren't a "young" persons car but overall the corolla is a great car. As for the malibu the look of the car is amazing especially that front end! But it's still a GM :chuckle

I agree that Ford currently has the absolute worst campaign. That lion-man thing is just plain stupid, and suggesting that a Focus will give you a social life isn't gonna fly even for the dumbest consumers.
I can't believe they're still running with that.
On the topic of the Corolla though... have y'all seen the new Mazda3 commercial with the guy who's neighbour is embarassed that he got a Corolla? :chuckle

that mazda 3 commercial seems alot better then the one with the red & blue one cuz the guy won't give his car back

I think Toyota is doing an excellent job of push marketing the new Corolla. People love to own something that has lots of buzz, and the frequency of these commercials creates that buzz that Toyota is after. Add to that, a well-built, newly redesigned (personally I think it's a bit ugly) vehicle as well.

Yeah, and I really like the new Matrix as well.
I like the new Matrix, looks good in person, but man is the interior chinsy. That is definitly where they saved money; materials.
But kaval is right, there enforcement of advertising is creating the hype for them.

Last year the civic sold 70K units. The 3 and Corolla sold around 40K. I think everyone else is keeping up with Mazda just fine.
Keep in mind that last years shipment was also dimished by the loss of models on the ship that turned over in transport ;)
