Looks too much like the inside of an airplane.

I prefer when the floor is lit but you don't see the source, under the seats, under the dash etc.

Yeh, having the individual LEDs show is, well, ugly IMHO.

On the other hand, they aren't horribly expensive...

I like the idea of putting some lighting on the door edge (visible when the door is open)

I Just bid on a set 4 bright red leds that will fit under the foot wells and all that you will see will be th light not the little lights with dots. It comes with the wiring and install materials. Its 28$ including shipping. Not a bad price if you ask me.

I was at Ikea today, saw these:

They come in both mulitcolour and white.... the multicolour ones can cycle between the colours... they are 12v. (Note: horribly expensive!)

Saw this too, but I suspect it would be less usefull.
