One of the OEM options on the 3 is "door pocket illumination", for about $180. Did anyone get this with their car? Has anyone tried installing them themselves? The wiring is probably in there already....

All the wiring needs to be installed. The screwed up part is that the kit comes with separate switches. I'm sure there's a way to hook it up to the door switch so they turn on/off when you open or close the doors.

Maybe Joe can find a better pic.... I don't have anywhere to host pictures right now, so this will have to do:

Also....

Joe you said "separate switches"..... where would these switches be located? Could we maybe used them for something else?

I've got em' on my car. They look sweet. The switches are right on each LED unit - a small flip switch.

They only annoying thing about them is that they are either ON or OFF, all the time. Mine aren't tied to either the door or headlights.

I usually just leave them ON all of the time now, as it is far too much work to lean over to the passenger side every evening/morning to switch. ;-)
