Not quite sure where to place this, but I noticed there's a little piece of tape on the front strut towers. Underneath them, there's a hole with some playdoughy stuff. Is there any real importance in the hole or the tape covering it?

My guess is that the stuff underneath is a wad of the rubbery undercoating stuff that the factory sprays on.... and tape keeps if from blowing through the hole into the engine compartment....

Finally got time to take a pic. There was a piece of white tape on top of it.

Wow, no idea. That just looks like duct tape to me. Maybe it's to cover a scratch or prevent contact with the hood? :s

Nono, the grey part is the part that isn't painted. Its like they covered with tape before they painted the strut tower, so the grey part there is the original non painted surface. And this is on both towers as well.
I just put a piece of tape back over it in the mean time...

Lets just hope that without that putty in there, you won't have a hole directly into your wheel well. Duct tape and call it a day, maybe some soap and water :P j/k
(thanks for the bulbs :))
