This is being officially unveiled at the New York auto show and in Canada, at the Vancouver auto show. I'm pretty damn excited because the Maxima is one of my favourite cars and I used to own one (which I miss greatly) :)
Hybrid and diesel variations are supposed to be arriving as well...can't wait to see more specs...

yikes what the hell did they do to this car. Not feeling the front. Back is ok, the inside looks like its brother Infiniti G35. Not feeling it. I always liked the Maxima until now.

IMHO it looks way better than the Old Maxima... i never liked the look of the old maxima there was too much going on in the rear.... Looks wise the rear end has a resemblance to the new G35's...I Feel that they made an improvement but i wouldnt buy this car i feel like the cars in competition are better.. thats just my Opinion everyone has there on views

What the hell is up with those headlights...
I like the contours of the hood, but damn... those lights ruin the whole thing.

It looks like a Camry, Altima, Infiniti 350, Sharp interior.

Yeah, not really feeling this one. The Maxima has always been up there on my list but this is just not doing it for me...

While I think this is a big improvement over the 6th generation Maxima, I'm still a bit disappointed. I kind of think the back end looks like a Yaris sedan, but personally I like the front.

The front looks like a hammerhead shark.
Quite nice, I like it. I bet there is bit of performance increase as well.

they need to bring back a manual trans...other than that, it seems leagues better than the 6th gen max

Diesel...yay!
the maxima just keeps getting bigger and bulkier, I dont like it. It might grow on me when I see it in person, but the boxed front end is reminding me of the new accords.

why is everyone making the god damn heatlight assemblies so damn funky, it only drives replacement costs, and installation costs up...

Not much change to the powertrain, same VQ motor with the same CVT. 290HP now.

Headlights got to go. Everything else just looks like an infiniti G35.
IMO, it's much nicer than 6th gen. Happy to see them making the leap to the next level and going back to their roots (have I just written a paradox or what, LOL). I am not too happy that by the time I can afford one that the gas prices would be too high to feed this 290HP beast. Otherwise, would happily choose this as the successor to my 5th gen...

+1 for everything you said... I'm not feelin' it at all. My dad has a 20th Anniversary Maxima, and I loved it... before it turned into a POS... hahaha
Getting too big/boxy for me... Looking too much like a Nissan version of a bigger, luxury Infiniti. Much prefer the smaller/sportier old Maxima. I know, the Altima is coming up to be that, but the Altima isn't a Maxima...
