I did a search but couldn't find anything. I am sure I seen something about this. Might have been on the mazda3forum.com Anyways
My front seat, the back part on the edge nearest the door looks rippled, deformed, not smooth and also looks slightly grey as if the material is wearing away and not black anymore. Only have 40,000KM on a 05. Gee hate to see what it will look like in another 3 years.
Anybody else?
Thanks

do you have the leather or the cloth? if leather it is most likely because the edges of the factory leather are fake and the part you sit on is real. So i have been told

i had that problem....i brought it into my dealership and bitched and complained. THey ended up replacing the foam and the cloth....so basically new seat.

And guess what, they are creasing again...and my warranty is now over.

I think its a common problem, evertbody should check their seats...

it happens - same problem with me

i think it is just the fabric wearing against your clothes...happens on the left side of drivers seat...just normal wear

using seat covers is the only thing that will stop it

i think a lot of it also has to do with the way you get in and out of your car....

do you get in carefully..... or do you splashdown??

do you learn forward and exit the car...or do you fall out to the side??

i heard leather does the same thing...and i agree a lot has to to with the way you get in/out .... but still, this is the first and only car i've seen this happen to....

leather will crack and crease way before any type of cloth seat would

getting leather will not avoid wear on the seats...vinyl will though

My first post but I am familiar with how to use this forums....

I have an 09 M3 GX/Black with the standard black interior.

I was vacuuming it out yesterday and noticed the seat was starting to wear, especially around where my wallet is in my jeans. Anyone else have this happen so soon? Has anyone bought seat covers? Price? Ebay has some that seem decent, anyone done this?

Thanks in advance.

Jamie

I would get some seat covers and call it a day. Easiest solution unfortunately.

No seat wear & tear for me. 2006 model. I don't carry my wallet in my back pocket though.

are you kidding me?

i owned a 1994 grand am with vinyl "fake leather" seating. The vinyl will crack, dry out and flake off - worse than leather.

Honestly, no material is perfect and will last forever. Leather if taken care of will last the longest (ie weekly conditioning the hide, etc)

by the way, the wrinkles will always remain, but to me they add character. :)

Wear and tear buddy , its a fact of life. Question is just as stupid as ....

"Why do we have to replace our tires ? "

maybe then its time to do what my friend does
he heard abt this issue before
he tends to keep lots of shit in his wallet so he ended up taking out his wallet and putting in the mid compartment
