On a stock exhaust?

Basically if I was to put on an aftermarket tip on a muffler how big is the outlet? (or inlet?)... uh i dont know which one is what LOL

I'm pretty sure the stock exhaust is 1 7/8" but I would wait until the actual exhaust gurus chime in. :)
