I wanted to let everyone know about this cool thing I found on ebay. I was looking for a replacement for the Cigarette lighter since the led bulb always seems to go out.

I came across a couple of different tacky looking things but found something really cool!

The "Spotlight" is a 12V rechargeable led light that is exactly the size of the cig lighter. When charging it glows red and matches the interior lights. I'll take a pic when it gets dark tonight and update this post.

www.12vspotlight.com

Lasts 2 hours of continous use and takes 7 hours to fully charge (only bad part). It's submersible in water and will save me from carrying around a flashlight now for emergencies.

There's a local seller in Canada I got it off Ebay ID "miaugi" (Steve Johnson) who's the cheapest ($17ish shipped) and was really professional to deal with. He can probably discount on shipping if a bunch of you talk to him directly.

I just sent him an email and he will let me know the details tomorrow. He said he's going to look into it.

This is my reply back...

Hi Ryan:

We can work out something, especially on the shipping which is always a killer. Let me look at it tomorrow and I can get back to you then.

I just shipped one off to a member of the Mazda 3 club in Toronto and he told me he thought the Spotlight was AWESOME (his words, not mine).

We will soon be introducing 3 new accessories to go with the Spotlight:

1) is a 120V home adapter so you can plug the Spotlight into your home plug and have it always charged and ready for power blackouts (it is a very compact unit too),

2) a magnetic triangular base with a flexible neck that will hold a Spotlight to use as a trouble light, it can rest on a table or the ground or it will stick to the side of a car for emergency repairs like a flat tire at night,

3) an adapter to plug into a 12V accessory plug and have a dedicated spot for the Spotlight as well as another accessory plug.

The only thing I really like to stress is the Spotlight will not work in a 12V accessory socket, only in a cigarette lighter socket, that is the reason for item #3 above.

Thanks,

Steve

That was actually me. Tell him to give everyone a discount or something. I was originally thinking of getting the red flashlight instead of the black but the black one is really the best one for our cars unless you have a different colour interior.

It's really subtle. I added pictures uptop but it's from my cellphone, I apologize for the quality.

Is the actual light white?

If it is, I'm in for the GB.

The light is white, it's only red when you have it plugged in and charging.

For shipping he normally charges 2 dollars for each additional item, you guys are probably looking at around 13-14. I'm probably also going to get another 2 for some friends as gifts myself :)

Glad to see alot of people are getting one. I showed a couple of people yesturday. The actual flashlight is very strong. It's not a wide beam but the light is focus and bright.

So it's not just a cool toy but also functional

I'm just wondering from what I read above the spotlight won't charge in additional 12v outlets?

That's right. I'm not sure why it wouldn't, but I'll wait till I get mine to make sure.

I love this thing!! It blinds fellow co-workers and matches the amber lighting on the dash at night.

This does NOT work in the 12v plug. I think it's a little big for the flashlight.

Thanks for posting this! :)

Will it be alright to leave in the cigarette lighter 24/7?

Yes, it will be fine. The mazda 3 doesn't have constant power to the cigarette lighter all of the time. Only when on accessory or full power.

You can get them on M3F but they are a lot more expensive. There may be another GB on these here but not for a little while.

not sure if this is the same but looks the same. You can give it a try. It'll cost $10 cdn + free shipping so it is a little cheaper than how much we bought ours for in the GB. I think we bought it for $12? i cant remember

I doubt the free shipping will be to Canada, but it never hurts to ask. If it is that is a VERY good deal.

Shipping usually is free from DX Extreme, they ahve some wicked kock offs lol

case in point Wiimote charging cradle with 2 batteries 13 bucks canadian SHIPPED ( i just got it last week)

if you browse the site there are a number of good deals and products to be found. they are very prompt with their shipping (if item is in stock), and customer service is really good. all items are shiped with tracking as well!
