They have two for one specials, call them for details, I forgot during what times the deal takes place.

Nope, unfortunately that special is only on weekdays between 12am and 2am... Regular price is $25 + $10 license for an 8 minute race.

Perhaps if we get enough people interested, they will rent the place out to us. This way we can have a couple of races.

I've only been to this place, and it's pretty good. Track is pretty technical, fast Kart does not mean you will be able to win, you actually have to be able to drive.

I'm just going by what's written on their website. We were planning on going on Saturday but $35 for 8 minutes seemed too much.

I would be interested in a go-kart meet as long as it's at a reasonable time.

This idea has been brought up many times in the past but the interest always falls through and the date never works out for anyone. You are more then welcome to try and set up the meet, but make sure to use a poll for what day and time as that is always the biggest problem.

I would suggest setting a date at least a month in advance, and get people to pay you at meets or on paypal or something. That way, you won't have any (or not as many) people bail out, and if they do, you can subsidize the cost if we lose group rates. I've done this before with buddies at college and blue mountain. People just have to make sure their free before handing their money over!

401's cars are tuned inconsistantly so it's almost useless to race.. but just to do laps.

This is the best option, http://www.formulakartways.com/
The only way to have just TM3 on the track is to do even bookings. You're look at $70 for 50 laps with a group of 8 for one hour or $85 for 70 laps with a group of 10 for 1.5 hrs.

Woah... 70$ is waaaayyyy to much. I know in terms of price point and value its amazin, but yeah. I think the cost will hurt your turnout.

Though +1 for Formula kartways. Been there, have a membership as well :-P

I'm horrible at organizing events, anybody want to take a stab at this? I figured we have some sort of incentive. Ex. if race costs $45, everybody pays $50, we use the extra money as prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

I dont see you renting out a place at that cost, why not just go on one of the nights where its arrive and drive.

Got this in an email sometime in the last two weeks:

"Here are the five places in the GTA for those with a heavy pedal foot to unleash their street dreams.

401 Mini-Indy
Beginner and experienced racers alike should be able to navigate the simple, extra-wide design of this indoor course. They claim the fastest go-karts in Toronto, and the computerized scoring and timing will provide the proof while affording you bragging rights over your buddies.
37 Stoffel Drive, Etobicoke, (416) 614-6789.

Grand Prix Kartways
This indoor facility offers the true racing experience all the way down to the balaclava under the helmet. The top-of-the-line Italian go-karts are electric-powered and zip along at speeds of 45 kilometres per hour. Check out the shop to rent or buy uniforms and gloves to complete the driver transformation.
75 Carl Hall Road, Bay 3, Unit 9, Downsview Park, North York, (416) 638-KART.

Formula Kartways
Canada's first indoor track operating since 1994 offers 10 killer corners over a 1/4-mile course. The variety of turns from hairpins to S's gives drivers the professional feel and the 18-ft.-plus width lets speedsters pass the slowpokes and leave 'em in the dust. NOTE: Drivers must have a G1 learner's permit.
79 Bramsteele Road, Brampton, (905) 459-1073.

Centennial Park Mini-Indy
Boasting the largest outdoor track in the nation at 2 km, this complex course is not for the easily intimidated. The go-karts zoom at 45 km/h and the turns are harrowing as is the full-size bridge. Dare to sit behind the wheel when it opens in early April.
575 Centennial Park Blvd., Etobicoke, (416) 620-6669.

Goodwood Kartways
This outdoor course is home to the Toronto Kart Club and features 14 real races over the summer. It can be run in either long or short track configurations with a 700-ft. straightaway. There is a large spectator area for you to bring your fans and a complete race shop for parts. Opens April 2, weather permitting.
5200 2nd Concession Road, Uxbridge, (905) 640-KART."
