View Full Version : Dyno Weekend

Hey everyone
I've managed to organize a dyno day/weekend at Dynamotorports. ( www.dynamotorsports.ca ) They are giving us a deal at $65 per car on April 26/27. I recommend that everyone come out even if you aren't going to get your car dynoed. If you have a stock car all the more reason to come out and see what your car can do. That way when you are "finished" (nobody ever seems to be truly finished) your car you can see just how much that intake of those headers did for you.
(FYI: This is a 2wd only, which isn't a problem for the 3's)
Post up if you interested in attending.

I have a couple of questions, I am very interested.
1. What kind of Dyno do they have (brand)?
2. Have they had it long?
3. Do they know how to operate it safely?
4. How many pulls does that get you?
5. What kind of cooling system (fan) do they use?
6. Do you get a print out?
7. Does it read for torque?
8. Does it give an air fuel ratio reading?

Alright here's the spot.
Tim Horton's
Keele St. & The Pond Rd. (North East Corner)
Drive north on Keele St., Make a right into the first driveway after The Pond Rd. There will be a Hoops Sport Bar, and a Tim Hortons visible from the street, that's the plaza you will be looking for.
We will be meeting there at 10:30am and heading over to the dyno for 12:00. If all the cars don't get dynoed we will make arrangements for what time on Sunday.

Awesome, your car is a freak! Those are the best numbers that I have heard in Canada. That is to the wheels right?

i thought it was 270 something, are you upping it based on a % that Tony's dyno is off?

The first run was 270 something....last run was the good one. (they were tunning the meth injection I think...)

The first run was 270 something....last run was the good one. (they were tunning the meth injection I think...)
so are there dyno sheets for 299 and 300 something or is that a number you guys are taking the 270whp number and going with Tony's estimate that his dyno is 10% low? 270*.10= 297whp
Vince's number for example was 270whp with a MP, CAI, BOV last year... this year the power adding MP is gone, a CBE (no power dif) is added and FMIC is added... so say the MP was worth 10whp that is suggesting the FMIC was a gain of 45whp which i don't buy.
Going by Tony's estimate of 10%, if the 303 has been adjusted up then its corrected number is back to 272.7 which would make more sense... you lost say 10whp for the MP and then gained 13whp back with the FMIC to be just ahead of where you were last year.
thats why comparing dynos is hard, can't wait to we all head back for a baseline comparo :)

if vlad was not banned he could answer you. but I am sure you have his number. He does not have the FMIC from my understanding.
Have you been to Dynamosports for a dyno?

yes my numbers are adding the 10% that tony explained and a very good explaination to
but the good thing is while most of our cars loose a ton of power from heat like on my first dyno i went to with james, my car for example pretty much gave up while loosing that but now only a 5whp difference after my 3rd pull
but on another note james when are we going back to forest and forest
after the AP comes out?

Doesn't the FMIC create lots of lag? Much more piping and larger IC means more air volume to compress meaning more lag. In my mind, anyway.
Unoriginalusername
04-29-2008, 07:17 PM
tmic has no lag and besides a dyno and repeated 1/4 mile pulls followed by a stop that cause heat soak kills a tmic... add in meth and you have better cooling and no lag :)
WhiteSpeed3
04-29-2008, 07:31 PM
i dont feel any lag compared to before i dont know
