My girlfriend is looking for a remote starter for her 2007 Mazda 3 GS Sedan (manual transmission). Does anyone know of a particularly good 'Mazda suited' brand, or shop to have it installed? Also, I've heard that it's bad to get an automatic starter for a manual car - Is this true?

Cheers

it's not "bad" per se, but you have to leave the car in neutral which can be bad in some situations aka steep slopes/hills

but if you're on a relatively even surface and you trust your handbrake
it's not a problem
i drive a manual and i usually leave it in neutral with handbrake up unless i'm on a a terrible downhill.

for that matter it really depends on what you want to spend
i think any car remote will do the job but they vary in range and in lil perks

i for one have a compustar alarm/car starter combo
i love it and it does the job perfectly
has pretty good range and it comes with a little pager with a picture of your car that shows you and confirms that the car has started
and if it's locked and etc.

do some researc. theres lots of information on this board

Get compustar brand. Audioheaven and Lockdown (both sponsors) do them. I have a stick and a starter/alarm combo and got it done at audioheaven. they did a good job

Take a look at these tlinks. They should help to narrow down your decision.

the best way to warm up your car is to drive it slowly

Compustar has a really good alarm and starter combo, and Jeff from Lockdown does an awesome installation.

This is great, thanks everyone.

Ironically enough, I just found out that I actually work right down the street from Jeff, on West Beaver Creek rd. How weird is that?

Small world! Jeff, I'll be over to chat with you on my lunchbreak.

Cheers
