Well with the fantastic weather we had this weekend, I took the liberty to wash, clay, and wax my new 3 Sport, which has been dirty since it left the showroom last month (pics here (http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showpost.php?p=267003&postcount=9) with ~120km on the odo, day I picked it up). I actually cleaned up 3 cars - my 3, my brother's Vibe, and my old Cavalier. It took all weekend and I have a nasty sunburn now.
Now I see what this pearl paint is all about :bana2 . I do not have any plans to modify it, except I may tint the windows for a little more security when I am hauling my bikes around.
The old vs. the new

I think it just turned over 2000km. I think I've had it 4 weeks now, so that's not too bad. I'm not sure when I'm 'allowed' to do the first oil change.

Some updated pics here, I removed the side mouldings...love the way it seems to improve the stance of the car. They came off super easy, just a little fishing line to get it started, then they just peeled off no problem; didn't even have to use goo-gone. It kind of peeved me off that it is slightly yellow underneath the mouldings, and the car has less than 3000km on it :loco I clayed and waxed the affected areas and the rest of the car is super-white. How long would it take to 'fade' to match the rest of the car??
Also I took off the '3' badge on the rear only to find out later that the 'Mazda' badge is pinned on :bang
Now I just need to find a stubby antenna, and eventually tint the windows.
Anyways, pics...looks good for a totally stock car, eh? :hawt

The Sport looks so much better without the side molding..
Next should be a stubbie...

Thanks Jeff...such a difference in a month and a half of owning it, first day I had it there was a few feet of snow on the ground, and now it's practically summer!
Give me another month and it will have 5000km, and I will probably make the trip up there to have your guys do the first service, and grab a stubbie antenna as well.

Awesome pics....any experience with a camera?
Thanks Aggy :)
I was raised in a family of photographers. Automotive subjects aren't my forte, but I'm trying. I usually do landscapes and city...one of these days I'll put a gallery back online.
Yeah, if I didn't know any better I would have said you snagged those pics from a magazine!
Stock looks great...I don't think I'll do too much except tints later on with my ride. Your pics prove you don't need to do much to the car to look good!
Thanks Aggy :)

Well you're pics have rid any doubt I had about removing the side mouldings I was considering doing after I pick up my 08.5 CWP Sport. Car looks great.

A couple of new pics...the paint is now super shiny and actually smoother than the glass :whoa
It's impossible to capture the pearl on camera, but believe me, it sparkles!
Products used were Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer and two layers of Deep Gloss Paint Sealant from eshine.ca. Extremely easy products to use, and fantastic results. Nuts to the Canadian Tire crap.

Still no stubby antenna (they were out of stock when I went to Mazda of Toronto!), but I did get an Axela badge, and a boot liner :chuckle

Have not posted in a long time...Are RX8 wheels overplayed? I don't care anyways, I think they look good! Also recently added Nokya Hyper Yellow fog lights, and a Corksport SRI. I have no plans to lower the suspension, I live in the sticks and I need all the suspension I can get!

Thanks for the offer! Unfortunately I'm way down in St. Catharines so it would be a really long drive to get an antenna!

I'd you want a stubby antenna, go to the dealer and ask for the CX5 antenna. it's like $15 i think

Added a new-to-me toy to my Mazda family. Just picked it up and drove it home today!
A '93 Miata with 150k on it in super nice condition for it's age. The only options are power steering and a trunk release. No A/C but who needs that with a convertible! All the major maintenance was done recently so it's not going to be a project. Paint is original and it needs a little love, but I'd rather have that than a crappy repaint. Runs and drives amazing, being a 1.6L it's not particularly fast but it handles like a go kart. Not going to modify it at all as I love a nice original classic car, I'm just going to clean it up and polish the paint and drive it.
