stupid, but what is "axela"?

okay, i saw a mazda 3 driving down the 401 this morning, and it had a bunch of badges stickered all over it. and one of them was "axela" on the back, ive seen the name before, but what exactly is it?

ya, uhm, it was a black sedan. and had the mazda logo on the side, and axela on the back. the 2.3 logo on the side as well.

isnt putting axela on your car kinda ricey.?

Any modification you make to your car could be taken as ricey. Do what's best for you and what you like.

Depends who you talk to. The last car club I was in, it was generally thought of as rice to replace Acura emblems w/ Honda emblems and the like. General consensus there was, "Unless the car originated there under that model name and was brought over here, then it's rice to "convert/JDM" your car just because it shares a different name overseas". I think it's a little ricey to put an Axela badge on but that's me. Now, sticking a GTR or Type-R badge on a car that clearly isn't is mega rice lol. To each his/her own, do what pleases you, not others :)

lol, good call. i think it looks neat. but, ya i guess do what pleases one not the other. it kidna reminds me of putting acura logos on hondas etc. oh well :P thanks for letting me know it was the jap version of the car. no longer confused

Mazda 3's are built in Japan. Original name is Axela. So according to that consensus, is it rice or not?

I don't think it's rice to convert Acura to Honda (as long as you don't put yellow Honda emblems....yikes). I don't think it's rice to put Axela (as long as you take off the '3' :chuckle). I think it's rice putting TypeR on a Civic EX. I think it'll be rice if you put MPS/Mazdaspeed on regular 3.
But that's just me.

I Love my Axela badge it causes people to ponder.... some people actually though my mazda 3 was a special japanese version it was my first mod and i have no regrets

type in mazda 3 in google and for the wikipedia site it will show Mazda Axela first.... that was the original name... i believe the mazda 6 = atenza

Yeah. I thought about that when I was writing my post.
So long as there's a difference between Mazdaspeed accessories and the Mazdaspeed/MPS model...but at that point we're really nitpicking.

It really is to each his/her own.
