If you're running 45,000 watts of subs, then yea, but your average 1000-3000 watts wont do anything. I have a single 12" MTX in a ported box with the matching MTX single channel amp at 900w, 300w RMS. Isn't too vibratey at all.

define how it would destroy your car? depends how loud you run it, depends the type of music you play. and if its installed properly, and properly insullated than i say no

In a nutshell it won't destroy your car. It can however loosen nuts and bolts somewhat over time, and cause rather unpleasant buzzing, and rattling. If other people hear that, you'll wish your ride were actually destroyed. ;-)

As an average, with properly insulated trunk, loud enough for rear view mirror to move out of its position lol with 2 12s in the back and 1 amp, thats 1200w in total and 900w amp, in my altima.. But generally speaking, you would wander if tiny vibrations would damage your car from time to time no?

and yes thats what i mean and temperarly causing problems, ending up going after one thing to another. Maybe the word "destroy" was said in the wrong sentence

If your mirror is moving out of position I'd be far more concerned with hearing loss than your car being destroyed!
Most non competition systems will not do anything crazy to your car. There is the possibility of straining your electrical system and excessive rattling in the trunk, but that's about it.

I had a car back in 2000 or so and was only running 1 12". The problem was that the seat didn't fold down and I think this caused my problem. I managed to crack the seal/weld in the trunk where the water drain of goes and was having water leak into the trunk when it rained or when I washed the car. I fixed it easily with some silicone.
I ran 2 12" subs in my last car and had no issues at all. Personally I wouldn't worry about it unless you really had something crazy in there.

mythbusters already proved it...mind you their sub was 3 feet across....
might be destroying your internal organs at 120db.
or hearing.

I would say yes, and no. No, it wouldnt destroy your entire car, but yes it would destroy some parts.
On my GT sedan, my left rear reverse light popped out of place, my right rear reflector is loose, and my rear deck has a once inch crack in it.
Oh well, its great to piss off all the ppl in traffic. Ha ha.

It might not destroy your car, but it may cause someone else to take a baseball bat to your car!

For most moderate stereo installs... no
For some really high-end SPL installs... yes.

I dont knowwhy people need loud subs in there cars... just getting some nice speakers is more than enough in my opinion. Some guys you see with 2 subs that are 15" each... its just really over the top.

The sub in that Youtube clip if no one noticed is Distorting like crazy! He probably has the gain way too high or the system is not matched....Distortion more than anything is usually the cause of excessive rattling. If your amp and subs are properly matched and your system is set up properly, gain etc; you should never experience rattling. Now with massive competition systems you won't get rattling but you'll get some heavy thumping just from all the air thats being pushed...these guys will retorque their whole cars every six months or so, and I mean every bolt and screw they can get to!!...not sure if its necessary but it used to be the practice.

I have a 12inch in my hatch and when I turn it to full power, mirrors on both sides vibrate like crazy. I woudln't say the sub has affected the car but when I go to adjust my mirrors the adjuster doesn't seem as good as before.
