Just curios and want to see what everyone is thinking..What is more important for your car, getting higher milage, but saving gas (ex.going on the highway) OR saving milage, but paying for gas (ex. shortcuts, but having stop signs or lights)?
For me milage comes first, since I live a little outside the city..
But then again looking at todays prices of 120 cents..gotta buy a Smart car soon lol

I'd say saving gas. I would assume highway miles is better for the car than stop and go traffic.
Also fill up on Shell (ethanol free) to get a bit better fuel economy =)

right now I dont care about the gas mileage or saving gas, I just traded a lincoln navigator for a mazda 3, I was averiging 22 litre to 100k with the navigator now im getting 7-9 with the mazda HUGE difference
I only really do in town driving but I do take as much short cuts as I can

the last Shell station i filled up at wasn't ethanol free; it was "up to" 10% ethanol (bronze), 5% (silver) and 0% (gold)..

i just drive the car less. i have started to take a lunch to work now, so now i dont have to drive home or somewhere to get food.
and im starting to ask friends for gas money.
also, the bicycle will be coming out of storage hopefully today.

ya i really consider where i drive now (although i drive 140km everyday there and back in total to school, doh) but aside from my daily commute, i really try to not drive anywhere. 1.20 for gas is nuts. and my car isnt getting the milegage it should. i drive 90% highway and im averaging 10.9L/100km which is not what i should be getting. should be more like 7. maybe i should drive slower on the highway, hehe

10.9??!!! I get 10.0-10.5 bumper to bumper 100% city, and normally 8.0-8.5 100% highway. On the way back from the cruise meet last night, I set my cruise control to 110km/h and averaged 7.5L/100km yesterday, about 20% of that city driving (without many stops for lights).

90/10 highway/city at 140km/h steady I normally see about 9L/100km in my turbo'd car...I don't know why yours would be so high still. Maybe a difference in gas? I use 94, when going to Quebec I have no choice but to use 91.
