Hi guys,
I'm just throwing it out there...was wondering if anyone is willing to help me out and install a TWM SS. I took a look at the How-to guide and I'm not confident enough to do it myself.
I got a quote from Mazda up in Newmarket (Dave Wood Mazda) and they will install it for $92 or so. But if someone is kind enough to help me out I'd much rather save that cash for some cleaning supplies :)
I live in Aurora and work in Markham, so anywhere in between works for me. If you have time this weekend I'd love to get it installed.
thx,

I might be available to do it for you. My price is a two-four of Alexander Keith's. :) PM me if you are interested.

Yep..talked with mcguyver_3...he's going to see if he can squeeze me in on Saturday.
If that doesn't work out, I'll give you a shout Skarbro. By the way, Keith's rooooocks :) Have you tried their new Keith's Red?

I installed my own myself on my MS3 a few weeks ago. I can do it for you too. I wouldn't even charge anything, it's a simple install. I'm in Thornhill. PM if you need help...

I suggest you watch and learn as much as possible. I haven't done much, but everything thats done to my car is done by me, or if I'm not comfortable doing it, with me there watching and learning. Goal is to be able to do it myself.
And honestly, this install is one of the easiest. The only semi hard parts are getting the old shifter out, and the new one in with that spring clip in the correct position. As long as you can do that and not forget to put the little white cup on the new shifter you're set.

Agreed. I am like that as well. I prefer to do things on my own, but if I can't then I would at the very least like to watch and possibly assist whoever is going to help me.

The worst part for me was removing the dash panel with the lighter and airbag light! :)

Ah, see I'd had that all apart before. That damn spring had me struggling for a half hour though, and I didn't have anyone to help me.

For me, it took ten minutes tops, two tries! (Let's not discuss how long it took me to get that panel out! :) I didn't want' to break or scratch anything, and the right-hand clip just would not let go!)
Clamp the shifter base to a table.. much easier. Also put the white cup on after the new lever and the spring are in place.. gives just a bit more wiggle room.

Just wanna thank mcguyver_3 for meeting up with me to get this installed. Everything seems to be pretty smooth now. The shifting is definitely improved and feels fantastic.
