I really hate the silver strip on the shifter of the 2008.5 AT :(

Any recommendations for a replacement knob?
The "Mrs." won't let me take her shifter from the 2006 (fully leather wrapped)
Perhaps someone has replaced theirs and has the old one sitting in the garage?

I actually still have a knob that I've never installed (manual).
... but I traded my manual car in for this AT Mz3
... i'm sure i could slap it on there but it would look kinda out of place (silver)

Why couldn't they have made that strip piano black like the rest of the plastic bits in the interior??

I would still prefer the old leather wrapped stock one :pop

The one thing I liked about the OEM one was the size of it. Didn't look that great however the size was perfect and the weight was comfortable. The one I painted above in Jeff's picture is slimmer and very light. Feels like nothing is there.

I'm still thinking about swapping back.

I got the 2008.5 GT... should I have got a fully wrapped leather one?? or is this the one that everyone else got with their 08.5 GTs?

hehe....I'll think about it.

The fully leather knob was OEM for the 04 to 06. The one you have is the new OEM knob. I'm wondering if you can find one on ebay or post up here in the Buy/Sell section for one.

You've got the option of going to a dealer and asking if they have any spare knobs laying around. You've got other options as well.

I've used the stock 04, then a Dodge Magnum knob, then made myself a custom knob. Get crazy, lol.

Huy you wanna swap? I have a leather wrapped A/T knob from an 07 Mazda 6 GT. The bottom part has a brushed silver finish.

I kept looking at this pic trying to figure out what year mz3 it was...then it dawned on me...lol
