Before I introduce myself to the forum, I just want to thank all of you. I came across the forum a couple of months ago and never joined as I don’t live in TO and didn’t own a Mazda3. This past week I got my new car…just wonderful. What I’m trying to say is without this forum, I would have been lost. So a BIG THANK YOU!!

So I joined the forum when I bought myself a true red 2008.5 Mazda3 GT automatic with luxury package. I’ve picked it up last Wednesday. I had waited 42 days for the car as it was in Vancouver. For a brief moment, I thought I made the wrong choice because I never saw the new 2008.5 mazda3 but I’m happy that I stuck with it.

Hope to talk to some of you in the near future

Welcome..

42 days from port?? Did the dealer give any reason for the delay, normally it takes a max of 16!

Nope, the dealership didn't give any explanation.

I called every week to see where the car was and I can tell you it took a while. The car stayed at port for a week and a half (close to 2 week), then on train for 2 weeks and once it got to TO, it took a week before it actually got to the dealership. In all 42 days.

Okay, that sound a little more realistic, I know that weather out west and a short delay with rail car shortage.. it all adds up.

Got it.. now posts some pictures.

Congrats on the purchase! Let's see some pics! :D

You may want to look into getting the paint clay barred to remove the rail dust from your paint and follow up with some paint protection :)

I have some pictures but I can't seem to upload them on to the thread. I need to search the forum a bit more to try and do this.

I'm going back to the dealership on Tuesday to get my accessories (which they didn't get after 42 days of wait) and they are doing a second car wash as they didn't wash it when I picked it up. They forgot a tire, there's still glue spots on the skirt...it was a dirty car.

The main reason why I waited 42 days, I wanted that color. Now my bike (motorcycle) and the car is red. :)

lol @ the missed tire.

And they say they washed the car :loco

Welcome to the forum! Car/colour looks hawt!!

Now time to start the Mods! :chuckle

p.s; I'd advice you to consider getting the vehicle finish stripped/clayed/waxed a.s.a.p, considering the time it spent at the docks and on rail...(for peace of mind).

The bike is more of a candy red color then the true red like the car...but they are both red.

:) Welcome to the forum.

Have you checked out the Ottawa Mazda Club as well? Lots of local info on there. I personally frequent both club's boards as they both have great people and really useful information.
