Alarm problem

Hi I had a autopage rs-1000 alarm installed on my 06 mazda 3. When I exit my vehicle and close the door, and press ARM on my remote -- it thinks my doors are ajar (open) and it chrips 3 times and sends me a message.

This is because our dome light doesn't turn off untill you lock your doors using the power lock button.

Does anyone else have this issue? I asked the installer, they said I have to wait till the dome light turns off, then arm it. But if I leave the dome light to turn off by itself, it takes about 17 seconds, and I can't wait that long to arm my car.

Is this an installation error? I tried searching, and it comes up empty.

The only way you should have to wait is if the installer went too the dome light wire and not to the actual door pin wires at the pjb. i would have the installer take a look at the install to make sure thats where he went.

Sounds like he wired it to the dome light he should of went to the door pin wires.
