Well, with the popularity of Cobb product going through the roof I want to see how many of you would be interested in the upcoming FMIC they have coming out. We've received no pricing or dates yet, so this is just a vague yes or no that you are interested. Pricing will probably be around what the CP-e is (around $1200 USD) and shipping on these will be a real pain, so I've no idea what I'll be able to sell them for yet.

when you've got the ap, kinda makes sense to go with a kit that the map will be built specifically for :chuckle

I still want the the Cobb Sways and possibly the STS, but we'll see

if you don't have the TMIC and switch to FMIC, wouldn't your engine look kinda bear? suggestions?

also...since you don't need the extra clearance...would anyone fit the regular MZ3 hood on for the extra sleeper look?

you cant, the hood hinger is different, and the spray head is different, the hood is different shape too. the engin bay has two tube acrossed, it wont be bad looking at all. :chuckle

How big of a difference from TMIC to FMIC.. Not necessarily the Cobb one, but others that have been purchase. Lets hear them numbers!

Vince with a CBE, BPV, Intake and FMIC dynoed a few hp higher then Vlad with meth injection, CPE CAI, CPE TBE, Forge BPV. For that FMIC to be able to erase the 20-30hp/tq. of a high flow cated DP is pretty impressive IMO and validates the claims a few IC's claim (20whp).

Anyways, back on topic... add your name if your interested :)

I've already talked to the distributor in the US. I'm gonna be getting 4 in when released. One for me, and 3 to the first others with the cash when pricing released.

COBB FMIC

Projected Release
May of 2008
First batch of piping done.
First batch of cores are here.
First batch of silicone and t-bolt clamps done
Brackets for power steering cooler line are in production.Projected Features
Removes restriction and heat soak present in stock or aftermarket TMIC's.
3.5” thick, 24” wide, 7.8” tall bar and plate core that was selected from several cores to that we actually have tested to have the most heat transfer, least amount of pressure drop, and still allow good flow to the radiator/condenser.
Standard polished endtanks with natural silver finish core.
Aluminum piping properly sized for the application powder coated a subtle anthracite finish.
Blue Silicone couplers.
Made to fit stock BPV or aftermarket BOV that is stock fitment.
Retains stock bumper beam and does not require cutting the bumper beam.
No cutting of the bumper fascia required except one small tab on the inside that is not seen. It has been a while, but the tab that requires removal is either not used or holds something that gets slightly relocated.
We recommend professional or experienced installation as the fitment of the pipes needs to be specific to clear all places of the chassis/engine/transmission.
Undertray can be reinstalled with no modifications. (we consider this important as undertrays actually help air getting out of the radiator as well as some slight measure of protection.Pricing
Not yet setSource (http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=100754.0)

No info yet.

Just realize everyone that there is no Pre-order list going on..... Pricing is unknown at this point, and I wont be able to figure it out until I get all the shipping and customs costs.

Once they are here and I have the costing it'll be first come first served :)

CanadaGTO
06-19-2008, 12:03 PM
Just wanted to confirm that I will be having 4 of these imported in the next couple of weeks. Pricing is currently set at $995 USD in the states. I can't finalize my pricing yet, but it will be cheaper than you can import it from the US from, + you don't have to worry about clearing it.

Now of course, one of those is mine, so only 3 will be up for sale when they get here.

Don't start making a list, I'll only start taking reservations when I have pricing available.

Thanks.

Hey Pat, does it have COBB painted on the IC?

They all come with a COBB template so you can paint it no yourself if you wish.

ask james hes been in my car no lag at all

there is no lag at all, zip, zilch, nadda and the power felt great. Vince has and intake and not a full tbe if i remember correctly... vs. a full tbe, sri and cobb stage 2 flash and his car felt just as fast if not quicker with the fmic.

his and mps's car also dynoed the same (actually vince was a little higher) so its not just speculation, the fmic works.

sorry lol but i am really looking forward to this mod. Between the improvement i felt in vince's car and the fact that the ap has a FMIC with increased boost target etc. it should really make things start to come together :bana

My wholesaler begged me not to take all 4, but since I had them pre-ordered from months ago they had to give them to me. Seems that Cobb is unable to meet demand..... I've learned from the SRI debacle to order Cobb stuff early.

Wow no lag at all eh? Completely worth the price. Without the lag and with the power increase it will just feel 50hp faster. I can only assume lol
