View Full Version : Angel eyes as DRL?

I'm upgrading my low-beams to after market HID bulbs until I can get my hands on an OEM HID Cluster from a junker. Anyway, on my 2008.5 the high beams are the DRLs and personally I'd like to swap out the bulbs there as well for consistency more than anything. Once I swap out the high-beams to HIDs I believe I need to disable DRL as they're just lower power high beams (correct me if I'm wrong). As a potential solution to this problem I'd like to install Angel Eyes and use them as my DRLs much like the BMWs do. Anyone accomplished/failed at this? Have any thoughts?

I always wanted to do that mod and maybe even more with headlights (trying to be creative:chuckle) but scared to open headlights, or even bake them only thing I baked ws cookies but not something like that, wouldnt it melt your reflectors on high beams or such?? also read it somewhere that it is alot safer to dip your headlights in a tub of boiling water untill glue softens, is that safe considering water might get inside and stain and all?

Why do you want to put HIDs into your highbeam?

A feeling for being complete a suppose. Rather than mixing halogens and HIDs have HID for both. Chances are I'll never use the highbeams anyway as the HID lowbeams are pretty good...

I personally think highbeams HIDs are a waste of money. How often do you use your highbeams? Not to mention that flashing HIDs isn't good for their longevity.
DRL angle eye == good
HID hightbeam == bad
