anybody here joining/joined? I join this every year because I think 1. it's for a good cause and 2. you don't get to ride on the dvp that often!

Not only will I be riding... but I might as well use the thread you started for some shameless self-promoting fundraising. :chuckle

If anyone here likes me and feels a little charitable, please drop me a few bucks. I just found out that if I raise $500 online, I'll have some miniscule chance to win a new bike. :bana

You'll note how sad my little thermometer looks (for some reason, it won't include my offline donations, with which I've actually passed my "goal" so please don't think I'm a total slacker), so any bit will help boost my online ego.

Any donations over $10 will score you a tax receipt, which you can use next spring to claw some money back from the government coffers.

Follow this link to donate:

If you find that looks way too phishy, you can also go to http://www.rideforheart.ca/ and click on Sponsor a Rider and then search for my name and you'll end up at the link I posted above.

Do me proud, guys. It's starting to look like we're gonna do this thing in the rain! :whoa

I might do it again last minute.

I'm tempted to try the 75 KM ride since I have a road bike now.

For what it's worth, not a single person from here has given me a dime. :(

Pfft! Come guys! Show me some love! :bana

It's for a good cause. Y'all don't want to die from heart attacks do ya?

I tossed you a few dollars :) Money is kinda tight, but its a good cause!

Much appreciated, bro!

And with that... I actually beat my wife in fundraising by exactly $5. :bana

The ride was great fun this morning. I still can't get over how many people are involved. It was a bit chilly for my wife, but perfect for me.

We were near the very front of the pack for the 7:15 start, and finished up just as the last people were just getting started!

I'll post some pics over the next few days or so. I've even got a few of the MS3 with the bikes up on the roof. :chuckle

Your front wheels look so dark...must be the heavy braking as a result of fast driving! Do you always keep the bike rack on?

Wild Weasel

Yeah, the car is in serious need of a wash all around. Just haven't found the time.

And no, I take the rack off when I don't need it. Not good for fuel economy to just leave it there.

great ride.... but my butt still hurts... very windy! it's like going uphill most of the way :chuckle didn't drive my 3 though. I had to haul a bunch of bikes in the crv.

it was too bloody windy!

I felt like I was pedalling with a parachute attached to the back of my bike.

My wife generally rides slower than I do anyway, so for me it was more leisurely than it sounds like it was for you guys. :chuckle

Cool. Didn't think anyone from TM3 would be there. (Mind you I was on vacation the whole last week).

It was great except for the wind. The down hills felt like up hills. This was my first time joining the event. I think I'm gonna keep doing it every year.
