I believe I read in some of the threads that there is a fuel gauge countdown (e.g. "65km to go before empty" based on current driving conditions). I haven't been able to find this on my dash or in the manual... Am I imagining this or is this only available in the GT model? (I have a GS).
Thanks in advance for the help!

Press the info button beside clock, it cycles through different fuel/consumption info.

Not on all cars though.

Thank you, both... I don't recall seeing an Info button beside the clock but will check. Does the "remaining km" info show up where your clock/radio station/CD info normally appears?

Yes, It shows up where the clock is displayed, replacing the clock in the display. Then you press the Clock button to get it back.

Thanks again, Wild Weasel.
One last stupid question since I'm not sitting in my car right now... Is the "Info" button like the other buttons - i.e. the ones that say Clock, Media, Sat, etc.?

Found it! Thanks, everyone :)
there is a trick to make it show up for the older models. I can't recall the exact steps but its on the mazda forums.

I think what you may have seen in some of the threads is how far can you go after the yellow light comes on in the dash by the fuel guage.
This topic always comes up like that Seinfeld episode where Kramer tries to see how far he can go after the needle registers empty.

Just curious, are your fuel gauge countdowns accurate?

I've filled up twice when the trip computer has said I had 0 left. And I only had to fill up to 48L meaning I still had ~7L left in the tank or ~75KM

Tip: don't wait until your empty to tank up :) but i would say the gas trip thing works great. I had to make it to the sunoco the other day and was just watching it go up and down readjusting itself as i was doing hard accelerations :)
You'll see the km remaining number go up alot during the first 1000km of the car when you fill up. Mine started at around 550ish now it's around 600ish after 2000km.

Let the record show that I wasn't able to demonstrate the vehicle on pick up day, it was one of our salespeople.
I would never have missed something like that.
