View Full Version : MS3 Upgraded Inlet Pipes
CanadaGTO
06-03-2008, 12:26 PM
Not sure if any of you are following the discussions on the US forums, but there will shortly be a new upgraded inlet pipe available for the MS3. Fitment is better than the ATP unit, and pricing is lower as well.
I'm getting 6 units in initially, all powdercoated black for stealth, and with black hoses. No pricing available yet, but I will announce that as soon as the US pricing is announced. My pricing will be in line with the US group buy pricing that will be announced shortly.
As many of you know, the stocker unit is very restrictive, this unit will get rid of any remaining restriction you have on the Intake side of the Turbo.
I'll be starting a list once pricing is announced. Any list you try and put together right now IS NOT VALID :)
PRICING:
First 6 units only will be priced at $215 + taxes.
Pricing afterwards will be $265 + taxes so that's a $50 savings.

who makes this piece?
CanadaGTO
06-06-2008, 08:53 AM
Guy from the US forums. He's starting up a new company.
Lifetime weld warranty.
From what I've been told they did the designing/testing then outsourced the manufacturing to a fab shop.

You get more HP/torque with your setup? or is it just environmentally friendly ?

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!I'm up early and i got nothing else to do so here I am..
Enjoy....
PICS.

all i can say is it was worth my time and effort. overall i can really feel some difference from the skinny odd shaped stock pipe.
car now runs and sounds better at 3000+rpm, my bpv got an extra woosssh out of it and my exaust backfires like a gunshot.(loud!).wow!
this is another really good mod for the MS3.Thanks to Pat for posting this and giving me the idea..

When did you get this installed? Driving/power impressions?

A friend and I worked on it yesterday..drove on it for about 60kms now and still no CEL so that's a good sign..Power wise there is some really good difference from stock as right away i noticed my turbo spooling up louder, my car accelerates much better and it's the first time in a long time i snapped my head back onto my headrest shifting into 3rd. Everyone should be getting rid of the stocker that's forsure as there is definitely Hp/Tq gained from this mod.

haven't seen a real dyno yet for the atp or others homemade kits yet that validates the claims.... hoping to see some member results in the 10whp range as well as more options like this one get out there

Is this a mod that would need to be tuned for when using the AP, or is this more an issue of reliability over the stock piece?
CanadaGTO
06-08-2008, 07:05 AM
Doubtful it would need a tune, just like my upgraded TMIC works with stage2+. Having said that, once you've finalized your mods on your car I'd recommend you get a custom tune anyway to get the most out of your car.

will you still get Black powder coat and black silicone?
flyinb22
06-17-2008, 07:29 PM
I am curious about the black powder-coating as well. The GB on M3F is showing powder-coating as free.
If this is the case I would be interested in black powder-coating and blue silcon.
Thanks

The units I'm bringing in are all black powdercoated with black silicone.
Units after the initial GB can be ordered as you'd like, but unfortunately not for this GB.

I was more interested in the powder-coating and not worried about the silicon.
Thanks!
