I was looking to get my after market spoiler painted and I was referred to by a friend who had a bumper re-painted. I didn't do much shopping around but I figured since they do all of Ajax Mazda's car they would do a good job with my Mazda spoiler. This was not the case, when I picked up the spoiler I didn't notice anything obvious right away but I was in a rush to work and just threw it in the trunk. I installed it that night and noticed a couple of huge runs in the paint the next morning. I was very disappointed these had not been taken care of before I took possession again. So I called back and they told me to bring it in , so I took the spoiler off of my car a brought it back to the shop. That's when I noticed a small wrinkle in the paint on the corner of the wing. This must of happened when I removed the spoiler, so technically this was my fault but not being familiar with paint drying/curing times I wish someone would have told me to be extra careful. I just figured they baked the paint it should be solid. I mentioned this happened and they agreed to help me fix these marks which I will take partial blame for but I don't believe they are entirely my fault because if I didn't have to take the spoiler off of my car to bring back to them I would never have had the chance to damage the job. None the less when I went back for my 3rd visit to pick up the spoiler again, these marks were still there and looked even worse. I don't understand how you tell a client you will fix something and then don't. So I leave once again without my spoiler, I'm told to call back Monday. Monday comes and I call back and they tell me that it won't be ready until the next Wednesday. So now Wednesday comes along and my now fourth vist I pick up the spoiler, again being busy I don't notice any obvious imperfections and bring it home. Now I get the spoiler home and notice there are dirty hand/finger prints on top and bottom of the spoiler. These dirt marks are embedded in the paint under the clear coat, I've tried to buff and clay these marks out and they are embedded.

So to get to the point as frustrated and furious as I am I call back and all I get is 'bring it in and we will buff it out'.

Here is my problem for $250 this should have been done properly the first time, in total I've probably had to take 3 mornings off of work and about 5 trips in total I have been down to the shop. I've had to bring the spoiler back and forth to the shop now for the 3rd time. I've asked for some compensation and a refund with no avail, the manger was very ignorant on the phone and would not ACTUALLY listen to what I had to say.

The actual paint job is mediocre at best, when I questioned them about smoothing and body work on the spoiler, I was told they don't do that and I only paid for paint. I thought $250 should have included sanding and primer but nope...the spoiler is as wavy as the ocean.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, don't use these guys! They function under the customer is always wrong attitude. He offered no refund and told me all they can do is buff the dirt out of the paint. The whole time I spoke with the manager I think his name is Stephen he treated my like I was a unintelligent and that I had no understanding of the job.

DON"T GO HERE!

I just wanted my money back and to be on my way, I don't trust them to fix the job because it seems it keeps coming back worse than before. I can't believe he won't comp my anything.

Spread the message on these guys are crooks!

Thanks for the review Thrice08 and sorry to hear about your experience. This should be a good warning to all those wanting to do something like this. Don't automatically assume that if you pay someone to paint something that they will automatically do some prep work like smoothing out the spoiler. Ask questions first.

I went here for some work because Ajax Mazda recommended them to me (as Mazda didn't seem to want to fix it themselves). Mazda thought my car had been hit, in actuality it hadn't been, Mazda had left something under my hood which caused my hood to not shut properly, etc.

ANYWAYS - I went to see them to fix my front grill and my splashguard which had been smashed by flying ice in the winter. I had EXCELLENT service. Excellent time to order parts (faster than Mazda), way cheaper than Mazda and way faster to get the actual service done. Mazda quoted me at 4 hours and well over $800 to get it fixed. Top Collision had it done in 25 minutes and it cost me less than $350.

So, while I wasn't getting anything painted, they did do a fast, great job and it was much better than what I expected. I keep their business card handy and they will be my first call if I need anything else fixed. Sorry to hear you didn't have a great experience, but this is a great case of why regardless of how much of a hurry you are in, you need to ask questions and check the work before you leave if you are unhappy. Getting angry at them will not solve anything and you will not get the response you want.

midnightfxgt - So, thanks for noticing us. We're trying to boost our online presence. We've had a lot of Mazda's in the shop since then. In fact, just this summer since I started working here we've had a steady flow of Mazda Three's. Certainly none of those owners have had complaints.
