Saw a 2009 RX8 today.

I was at Scarborough Town Mall this afternoon and I saw one parked. This was the first time I saw one in person. It was red and I'm pretty sure it was the R3 model as it had the 19" gunmetal rims.

I really like the restyled look and I think it looks a lot better in real life. I guess I've seen the old RX8 for over 4 years so seeing some changes to it was good. The non R3 models just doesn't look right (front that is).

I doubt you're going to see a lot of 2009 models on the road so in a way, it was a special treat for me. :)

No pics...that's ok since most of us know that it essentially remained unchanged. Most people would not be able to tell the difference. I second your belief that we will not see many of them on the road since current owners should still be happy with their ride; therefore they will not feel like "upgrading" to the '09 model. This situation is similar to the Infiniti G37 coupe - don't see many on the road since the target market is extremely satisfied with the soon to be legendary G35 coupe. It seems like everyone has a G coupe.

theres one parked RIGHT INFRONT of toronto mazda. saw it while driving to finch station like 1-2 days ago.

I see it everyday when I pass by MOT.
It looks a lot better than prev RX-8s.
I love the RIMS too.

It looks alot more aggressive, it has more of a complete look to the car.. with front lip, side skirt, etc.
Prev RX-8 is a lot simpler, the 09's has more vents and holes.. so to speak.. if you know what I mean

I just saw a new one at lunch today (it was on 16th Ave., likely heading back to Mazda HQ). Looks really good, the changes are considerably more noticable than I had thought they would be.

prima mazda on martin grove and hwy7 has a black one with 19inch rims. car looks soo sweet. the body styling is simply amazing

I drove by Mazda HQ yesterday at lunch and there were so many of the new RX-8's in the parking lot (pretty much every colour). I have to say, they look really good in person. They just come across as more beefy (I think it's the new rims) and somehow more upscale. I certainly had no problem with the old one, but the refreshed one looks great IMO.

I'm on the fence about the styling but I'll have to agree with Prof, it looks much better in person.Best thing I like is the guage cluster and seats, tach in the middle, yeah!!..I wonder if those can be swapped into the 3!....I'd love them.

I saw one at scarboro mazda while going for service, sick car. It was a colour like carbon grey with gunmetal 19", recaro buckets, lip, spoiler....wicked looking. Are those rims just 19" variation of snowflakes by the way? wonder if it would just as nice if we just powdercoat to same colour.
