These dudes make me anxious. I was approaching a red light at Dundas & Spadina tonight to grab food when out of nowhere a dude with a bottle of water + a squeegee started wiping...the Toyota Corolla in front of me. I'm really glad he didn't start doing the same to me b/c I would have been unhappy. I was about to make an illegal right turn since you're not allowed to turn on a red light just to get away but I saw a cop car to my far left waiting to make a left turn onto Dundas. I might have to find an alternate route to reach "Swatow" in the future.

How does everyone else feel about these people?

I think it is cool as long as they ask. They are still better than the people that just sit there asking for money.

Exactly - I don't mind so long as they just ask first. It's kinda like a barber sneaking up on you, cutting your hair and then asking for money.

They better not touch my car.. usually my car is sparkling clean. :P

I feel very uncomfortable when I see them because they might just start cleaning without my permission.. And I have to speak to them to make them stop.. Only God knows who they are... for those reasons I find myself anxiously waiting for the light to turn before they come close to me! Same as for the beggars on the islands left to left turn lanes...

Thankfully there aren't too many of these haircutters lurking in the shadows waiting to pounce upon your ride. Back in the day they were rampant until drivers everywhere started to turn their compassion into aversion - for good reason. I'm not sure they all ask and what happens when you say no thanks? Anxiously waiting for the light to turn green, yes me too. Sparkling clean, yes also. Look but don't touch.

we actually saw some squeegee people while my buddies and I were in TO.
and yes, we were afraid that they would come to do our windows.

and i ended up making a right on a green, where i wasnt supposed to, and getting a ticket for it, by a bike cop.
and no, i wasnt trying to avoid anyone, i was just trying to get back on the highway to get out of TO.

They are usually harmless. Although there overall appearance would lead you believe otherwise. I usually wave my finger to indicate I'm not interested and they move on.

I tell ya, it's embarrassing when you bring out of town visitors downtown though...

it's not cool when they do it without asking first, but otherwise, I don't mind it

Wouldn't the auto wipers just slap them? :D

I had this experience before I had my 3, no asking and the guy was working on the windshield already. did he see that my car was sparkling clean that time? anyway, I just nudged the car (a bit hard) and he and my side mirror got to know each other.

ROFL! When they are about to clean your windshield WITHOUT your permission, just put those wiper blades in action!
