Before anyone jumps down my throat and says "use the search button" im not new to this forum and... well... i did :)
Now here is my thoughts/questions. I have (like i said above) done quite an extensive search on what would be the "proper" shocks to compliment the eibach springs, since one of my rear shocks is blown already. For those that dont know, I have had the eibach springs for about 2 months now. I have narrowed down my search to a very small handful of aftermarket (and one OEM) shock(s)
here is the list:
Koni Yellow - ~$740 (don't find these necessary)
KYB GR-2 - ~$540
Tokico - ~$500
OEM MS3 - ~$460 (averaging from Joe's post)
Personally, the price seems unbeatable for the MS3 shocks, but I am skeptical simply because I don't know much about them (spring rate, ride comfort, longevity). My vote is also leaning towards the KYB GR-2 as well, but I really don't know much about these either, other than their name which is high in the industry.
Can anyone with Eibach springs chime in what shocks they have and help me out??
thanks in advance TM3!

The price does seem right for the OEM MSP3 shocks.
Personally, I'm running mazdaspeed accessory struts/shocks. From my perspective, the struts/shocks being a mechanical part, I would suggest getting new ones. For another $46 you can get the mazdaspeed accessory shocks from Joe.
I will say, however, that the Koni Yellows are the stuff. A number of people here will say that they are perhaps the best match for our car. I've had the opporunity to put them through their paces on an RSX. Absolutely awesome if you can afford them.
My 2 cents.

^^ thanks Jason for the comments
wasn't sure the difference(s) in the MS3 and MS3 accessory in terms of what makes sense with my setup. Also, im very well aware of the yellows as i had a set on my old accord and they were fantastic. Although it's not a question of price, i really dont have any need to go any lower so i think the yellows "may" be a waste of money for me.

lol who gave you the quote for the koni yellows? (unless you are taking about 740 with tax, then the price isn't bad)
otherwise, e-mail sales@nsnmotorsports.com and they can beat it for sure.
tokico doesn't make shocks for our cars

but i would go for OEM MS3 if it is 460

I'm running Koni FSD, and pro kit, and am really pleased. I picked up a set used, for ~500.

I can get Koni Yellow, Tokico and KYB
I personally rather have Tokico then KYB, but would pick Koni over Tokico

since when did Tokico make shocks for our cars? you should tell them to update their website!
(their website says in Dev)

I am not sure if the shops i went to were just quoting similar tokico shocks or the actual one's for our cars, but either way, they do have them.
Yes, I was quoting Peter's price for the koni yellows :)
The MS3 price was from a post i saw from Joe on the boards and by the sounds of things, looks like the best choice. The FSD seem like a great choice as well, but if they were $500 used, then i dont want to know what they are new *yikez*
I am not being cheap here either, just don't want to spend any unnecessary money. It is only a 1" drop after all.

Prokits comes with the Koni FSD Kit (koni's shocks and springs kit that uses FSD. The yellow kit comes with yellows and koni springs).
so FSD will match these springs for sure.
but I would shop around for yellows, since I like the ability to change stiffness on the fly

^^ thanks fuman, something to consider :)

+1
Since you're on pro-kits and not looking for the slammed look.
Ride is almost like stock but with less roll when cornering (but we all know not to do that now with all the cops going around trying to nab at a "stunt driving" op). ;)

i kinda like the "go-kart style" ride that the pro-kits have, so you mean it will go more to the "boat style" ride with the Koni FSD?? that sounds like a step in the WRONG direction for me. I do like my suspension stiff. However, I don't plan to slam it so knowing this does help as well.
thanks wtom
I feel like i need a ride in other car(s) to feel the difference in MS3 vs. FSD!

I would love to go with Yellows if that was what i was looking for. I had them in my Accord and LOVED THEM! However, I do not care at all for adjustments, just ride comfort, so no point in getting the yellows. Might as well save the cash for something else. We will see i guess. If i really am not comfortable with how the FSD "rides" then i might go with the Yellows.

I think it is settled. I have taken a spin in almost EVERY combination of spring/shock in our mazda's and I just love KONI. A close second place does go to the MS3 shocks though, however they were on stock springs which may be drastically improved by better springs.
+1 KONI :)
