Hi all,

Recently purchased a used oem leather steering wheel so I could install cruise control on my GS hatch. The steering wheel has some large scratches in the leather, so I'm thinking of simply replacing the buttons and keeping my original steering wheel.

Before I do this, does anyone have any solutions or ideas on restoring scratched leather on a steering wheel?

Here's a bad photo from the auction:

Shot in the dark, but have you tried using some kind of leather care product? The Lexol one is good at getting rid of light scratches.

Never tried it on a heavily scratched steering wheel though.

I think a good leather cream would work well. Hard to say exactly though because I can't see how deep the scratches really are.
