Autoslalom is a legal, safe, inexpensive way to get involved in motorsports.

Basically, it’s a miniature road race, where drivers compete on a clearly defined racecourse outlined with pylons. Each competitor is timed within a thousandth of a second, and only competes against cars of similar performance potential.

Any car can enter and first-timers are welcome.

my friend will be taking pics with point & shoot camera if I can get her to wake up that day. If you are coming, do you have an extra helmet you can lend for my run? their rules say I can only borrow one loaner helmet at a time and she really wants rides.

I thought that was the excepted short form for Mazda3 on this board? I felt I should specify since anyone that knows me would assume I would bring one of my miatas to any slalom I attend.

it's all good...you can call your car whatever you like!

however, since the BMW M3 has been around much longer and is iconic in the minds of many, I personally prefer to call Mazda3's "MZ3"...

anyway, I'm glad we'll have a decent mazda showing!...pls remember to seek us all out at the event!

btw...how many miatas you have? hope I can catch a ride off you if possible...

What time does this event start/finish?

Are non-competing spectators allowed?

Registration starts at 8...we're gonna be there 8ish...I don't know when the event will end, but lunch is served for competitors.

Judging from the nature of the event, spectators will be welcomed as local law enforcement will also be on hand. This event has a "get them off the street" mentality...so I'm sure the community and others are welcomed to watch.

nice...yeah, I saw on TV that weather is iffy...but hope I don't jinx it cuz the skies have cleared EVERYTIME i've been tracking this season...but in case of that, I'll be testing out my set of new rims and tires...joy!

I just ran into the hada event organizer at work LOL. he was a customer of mine & i saw him wearing a hada shirt so i asked him about it... He suggest we get there early in the day to register.( be there at early 8ish) He is aiming for 8 runs that day (6 timed). Event will end around 4.

I've never floored the car in the rain but my guess is it'll be hopping like a bunny.

On the other hand, I hope most people dont have tread on their tires and run slow + less people show up = more runs.

Well...not that big of a diff...but considering my mods...hmmm..so I let silvermist99 drive my car...and...

he drove my car to a 39.2 sec!!! a full 1.3 sec faster than my fastest time in my own car!! respect!

it was my first autox event and will definitely be going back on July 13, Sunday...I'm just glad I was able to beat half the field...lol...btw, we were both in class 3. the thorn is the Cavalier beating us both...but it was stripped...still sour...

one comment first about fabio's car...
your car is AWESOME, if I knew your car was that grippy i'm sure i can hit 38.x on it, which will put you in the upper half of the league and most ppl there have R comp/really sticky tires. I just jumped in your car & started driving, coming out of first corner 'holy shyyyyt this is fast' hahaha.

Using my MaxQData logger, on my fastest run, I was able to hit top speed of 65.5km/h and avg'd 35.3km/h...this is getting fun!

Our best times of the day:
me: stock. 40.139 woot and didn't hit any cones in 8 runs!
me driving fobio's car with him in it(once):39.246 :chuckle.. faster then porshe 944 turbo
Fabio: 40.534. sticky tires, brakes, some suspension & AP.

highlights of the day, we beat: C6 vette, s2000, miata, some old light lotus, cobalt ss, civic sir, focus SVT, MK5 GTI, done up wrx.

Suprisingly we lost to: old STOCK n/a gutted neon with R compound, old caliver z24 with very sticky tires, a modded sentra SER-V.. I just checked them on edmunds they weight 2500lb.. maybe thats why :( Also the ford probe with gutted interior was soooo close to us.. suprisingly.

Most of the other cars running faster then me in 39.x had sticky tires/R compound and weren't stock. Our cars are decent in 100% stock form I can hang with these people. When I drove fobio's car I smoked most of them so our cars are definately competitive even at 3200lb :chuckle

Problems I had with my stock car, the biggest problem was my stock tires, after 3-4 run the grip was gone and I was plowing everywhere in the tight corners... Then I had a big lunch and that slowed me down more. IMO those who want better handling on this car, tires should be the first mod not suspension.

Last time I did an autox was in 2003~ and its fobio's first event. should be better next time. (july 13??)

Sorry I didn't make it. My nephew was visiting and I didn't feel like getting wet. Decent results guys. But remember, don't sweat which cars are beating you. In autoslalom it's all about driver. It's who you beat, not what you beat.
