maybe he has power folding mirrors that he wants to wire up to an OEM (looking) switch that fits in the blanks where the coinholders go.

that's my best guess....

You are more likely to get help if you clarify exactly what "mirror switch" you are looking for..... what does this switch do?

don't most people wire that to the rear defrost?
I've never seen an OEM button for that on the 3 (where the coinholder goes)

The factory heated mirrors do work off of the rear-defroster switch.

hi thanks for all the info

i have two options to install the heated mirror. first is to use the rear defroster switch but i don't want to do this cuz everytime when i push the button both of them will turn ON. second is to get r switch that show below on the Huyzel message.

once again thanks :)

Backing this up

The heated mirrors are activated when you press the rear defogger switch.

Curious question: Why don't you want them both to turn on at the same time? Don't they usually both need defrosting or something?

If you want a separate switch, I suggest that a simple push button would work fine, and actually might be the best option. If you wanted to get fancy you could use one that has a built-in LED to indicate when the mirrors are in heat mode. All you would need to do is drill a hole in the flat part of one of the blanks.

Now, the reason I said this is the best option is that you should put some sort of timer on it. Push the button to activate the timer, and have it automatically turn off, say, twenty minutes later. It should also deactivate when the car is turned off. If you look at www.12volt.com (http://www.12volt.com) there is all sorts of good advice on such things.

Oh... You *can* get push-buttons that toggle on and off.

Places like Sayal and Active Surplus are great places to get such switches.

Believe it or not, a similar question HAS been asked before. A similar response i.e. try Sayal and Active Surplus was given as well in post 3.:)

OR to prevent yourself from buying a switch that doesn't fit properly and/or spending the time to look through (I'm guessing) piles and piles of switches of all shapes and sizes, you could always just go to a mazda dealership and purchase one there.

(And if you are not sure how to remove the panel OR for other readers who are unsure how to remove it since there was an unanswered question in the link above, see here http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=9644&highlight=blanks especially post 7
