I do'ntknow about this trade cause i'm thinking, everytime a good player like this comes and ends up not playing because of some sort. And can't they trade a bigger guy then another CB4.

I am extremely excited about Jermaine O'Neal coming to T.O. Even if he can only play half the season at full capacity is way better then Rasho! He can be a defensive powerhouse. Looking forward to other possible trade Coangelo might have up his sleeve! This will definately help out Bosh & the Raptors.

Jermaine O’Neal at least is a legitmate centre at 6”11 260 lbs. Albeit an oft- injured one…. But still nonetheless a centre. The way I look at it, you’re only sacrificing what you potentially could develop on the #17 spot in the draft and Rasho Nesterovic. The reason why TJ Ford didn’t concern me too much is because he was often injured as well. So other then the huge contract behind O’Neal…. Player wise a straight up deal of TJ for Jermaine is no big deal. But from a team perspective for the Raptors, I would rather gamble on what O’Neal could do for us, rather then what Ford could do for us.

My prediction for this coming year IF this deal goes through and Jermaine becomes a Raptor:

60-70 games, 14 ppg, 8-9 rpg, 1.5 bpg, .450 fg%, .700 ft%

The deal can not be made official till July 9th, due to Ford's contract....
Hopefully everyone pases their physicals

Agreed, I'm not overly concerned with JO's health. So long as he's healthy for the playoffs I'm happy. We needed to get rid of Ford for a variety of reasons and I don't think he's as valuable as BC was letting on. Of course BC had to say that "we're in discussions with four or five teams"....it makes TJ look more desirable than he is.

I believe that in addition to Rasho, the Raps will also be sending Maceo Baston so it's not like we're losing any critical players.
