Looking at lowering my car and wanted to know it anyone has installed Cobb or RB springs on their MZ3. I know that Cobb only makes them for MS3 but someone says they will work on a MZ3.
I want a small drop nothing too much. Eibachs Pro kits are a great value for the money but would like to try something different.

Comments and recommendations welcomed.

Thx

racing beat is a waste of money since it looks like you didn't drop it.

Go with prokits chris. Price and quality is the best.

Yeah I prb will go with Prokits...
I guess my only concern was the stories I heard from members who got stuck during last years winter because they were lowered. I figured if my car was'nt dropped as much I wouldn't get stuck...
You had prokits on your MZ3 right?

Chris you will be fine with Prokits. Cobb isn't much of a drop either.

Go spend some more money!! :P

Since you have winter tires, you wo'nt have any problems. Prokit isn't as bad as it looks and IMHO they are the best springs for the mazda 3 since i've been thru 3 sets of different springs and i can tell that the drop and ride is the best.

I know there are a few members that installed a camber kit also. But there are a few who says they don't need it.
Peter has a promo where I can get the springs and camber kit for $450 OR I can go and get the Mazdaspeed spring and camber kit for 399 w/ taxes works out to be the same.
SOOO if thats the case which would you go for?
I'd like to keep my new tires for a few seasons and not have to replace them due to camber misalignment.

Well i can't give you any inputs about camber kit with prokits or any mazdaspeed stuff. I have never ran prokits with camber kits but i never had problems with excessive camber wear with prokits only. Thats why i don't think camber kit is necessary.

I added a camber kit to my pro kit. I found I was getting really bad camber wear, and since I was getting new tires, it made sense.
Just had an alignment done as well.

Chris maybe you can make a poll for people that got prokits on and see if they got camber wear on their car or not.

So why is it that some people need the camber kits and some don't???
I'm not running
stock wheels (18 vs 17)
offset is different (50 vs 52.5)
rim width(7.5 vs 6.5)
last but not least different tires(different width, etc.)

So because of these changes, isn't it a good idea to have a camber kit to compensate for the difference in wheel specs and aftermarket springs?

Well its totally up to you. A few here are running aftermarket wheels with prokits and with simple alignment, excessive camber wear was not a problem. I had aftermarket wheels 17x7.5 47 offset on my 3 with prokits and didn't have a problem. It really depends on what kind of tires you are running. Some tires wear faster then others.
