Anyone tried these out yet?
It's kinda intriguing that the back to back results with the dyno's show drops in power, and track time is only a wknd thing...

i want to know what is different before putting them on... if this is just to prove they can do full throttle which isn't any better for the car i see no point in these at all and wish they spent more time on meaningful improvements
Before long, there will over 100s reviews of these maps in the US forum.

on MSF, there are logs showing that w/ the new AP Maps, Cobb is still closing throttle up top...

Don't be jumping the gun. One log from a Dashhawk does not always make it so.

if this just an I told you so map from cobb to prove they can do it vs. an actual map to improve performance and reliability then I don't see the point

I just got a PM.
We have not officially released these calibrations yet. Regardless, I would like to know what gear you were testing in? We still need to make some revisions before these are officially offered later this week.
Christian.

I checked stage2+sf 91 octane FT, I was running stage2+sf+fmic 101 before, I noticed that they seem similar.
I logged my abs thrt, act ped, tps
Im having problems with my computer and the dashhawk.
I did 4-5 logs this is 1 of them, they were all in 2nd or 3rd gear.
rpm abs thrt. act ped. tps.

This map feels better then the stage2+sf v101, thats all I can say.

That's the second chance COBB has to really make sure the throttle is open. On a stage 2 car - CPE proved that you will gain serious power just by opening the throttle. They also admitted that a stock car will not see these gains due to the intake and exhaust being the restriction before the throttle coming into play.
I'll say it again - go buy that CP-E DP

give me some money and I'll go buy it in a heartbeat! =)
I'm never one to complain about these things tho...I didn't spend enough money yet to get to stage 2+ so whether it opens 100% or not it doesn't matter much to me...I was just wondering there's anything else to be gleemed from this...I had no idea that this map was all about the throttle opening...

mazdaspeedforums has some new flashes as of an hour ago.
I tested one out and it holds 75% all the way with the actual ped. at 100, I thought 90% was 100% open. not 75%?
Still they have control over it.

is this map supposed to perform better or just prove they can do it?

What's your impressions - more power?? With any map, you want to give it a few days before your final verdict.

So anyone tried the FT or MSF maps yet? If I don't see the official maps by tmr, I'm gonna give one of them a try and do some timed runs at AutoX on Sunday...also got track time at Dunnville after AutoX, so hopefully the track gods keep the rain away and I'll post some numbers for shits and giggles...
Hopefully the "official" maps come out too...

I've flashed with the MSF Stage 1+ SF map and all I can say is that the car is more stout...boost definitely comes on earlier and harder...and car pulls all the way to ALMOST redline...if you don't mind sacrificing 1 flash out of the 100 theoretical limit, I think it's worth a try...I still haven't seen the official maps yet, so this is as good it gets...for this wknd anyway... =)
For the cautious, from MSF:

Well, we actually modified the boost targets and made some fueling changes as well. The additional power gains are most likely due to these additional improvements in the calibrations. The throttle control testing we performed on our car did not show a gain. Plain and simple. That does not mean that gains cannot be found, it just means that the brief tests we performed at elevation did not show gains. Regardless we are working with enthusiasts and this forum to develop calibrations that are being requested. Similar to Subaru, we may have over 300 MS3 (and other MS vehicle) calibrations available for the various packages and hardware combinations. This is only the beginning of the services we are looking to provide to this community.
dadasracecar, you are obviously a very enthusiastic person. Please let me know if you are interested in testing the AccessPORT? The process is very simple and allows you to keep your ECU connected to your vehicle for the entire flashing process. We can literally analyze datalogs to see how the car is performing, modify calibrations, then immediately e-mail them out for further testing. This cuts down on handling and freight expenses, downtime due to back and forth freight. Hell, it makes this world a better place by saving all the shipping fuel costs involved with shipping your ECU out and back. What do you plan to do for hardware changes? Do you need to ship the ECU out and back again for a revision?
Take care,
Christian.

I flashed backed to stock again last night, just to wait to see what happens with these maps...

Hey guys...I've got some numbers, from testing 3 maps at my fav track...I don't want to release anything yet, as I'm researching more about the "learning" cycle of the AP...
So far, from my research, that it's almost impossible to get the ECU to respond to back-to-back flash unless you give it adequate amount of time/mileage to get the LTFT and STFT (pls don't ask me what these are, cuz if you don't know, you're not reading the right forums...) to adjust to the proper levels...like >10 miles/3 key-on-off cycles...I really want your thoughts on these and if anyone would like to chk out my lap time logs, send me a PM!
Again...I'm just on Stage 1+ SF...and my times are severely consistent for such a novice driver... ;)
