Inflation? Updated repair/risk stats on the car model? Did you move? Insurance company lost money elsewhere?

Could also be an increase in the number of accidents/claims in your area.

Yeah, sometimes the rates just go up through no fault of your own.

I've never heard of it going up by $20/mo... Mine just went up $3/mo because they "Reassessed their zoning premiums" or some BS like that...

Just some way for them to get more money for not doing anything :chuckle

havent moved, i live in rockwood (which is like a safe zone) got only 2 subs and amp, which they dont know about. maybe they are insuring my stickers on my car LOL. i have no idea and im afraid to call them to ask incase they decide to do an abstract cuz i called. no accidents either.

It happens all the time. Rates went up for pretty much everyone this time around. Although $20/month is a little high.

Yep. As others already mentioned, rates some times just go up. Mine went up only a few bucks (your $20/month is a lot though) and when I enquired they said that it's a "general rate increase."

try checking out other insurance companies. It maybe just that. My coworker drove an Accord and he was with TD malog or whatever you call it.

Now he switched over to Personal and he got a cheaper rate.

I wouldnt be surprised if the insurance goes up. It all relates to the economy/Canada's inflation. Prices go up everywhere..

That happened to me a while back when I got my last car. The company I was with wanted almost $800/mth. Went to RBC and they gave it to me for $300.

I tried another as well they wanted 50 bucks more a month. I turn 25 in a few months both companies told me my rates would go down. Im gonna laugh when it goes down 12 bucks and im paying the same thing i was last year. buncha douchebags

all they want is money. and whats sad is they can make us pay cuz they know that we will pay it in order to hope for cheaper insurance

I just got my renewal notice and my premium has gone up from 210/mth to 235/mth. $290.00 increase for the year:flaming

The explination I got when I called my agent was that it has NOTHING to do with me or my record, but our cars have a new "rating" from the IBC because of the many claims that have been made with the 3 for Bodily Injury and Accident Benefits.

And then he says "You suffer because others can't drive".

Great.

Since your insurance is up for renewal, this would be a good time to see if someone else will give you a better rate.....

I doubt it, before coming onto the TPA Group Insurance I was paying 476/month. I'll just deal with the increase.

There a several on-line insurance quote sites, here's one of them:

http://www.insurancehotline.com/

I've found the price variation from lowest to highest is close to double....

Here's another:
