You can download the manual in PDF form at Mazda Canada's website. From there, it's just a few clicks to get to the maintenance schedule, oil grade, transmission fluid grade, coolant type, etc. etc.

Better than flipping through the brick (half of which is French).

Use the recommended 5W20 oil in either a regular or full synthetic.

when does the light come on after how low?
does the dealer honour. If the oil changes we done somewhere else?

1. The oil level and pressure have to be pretty low for the light to come on. Generaly the idea is if the light has come on-you have very little time (like seconds) to safely stop and shut the engine off.

2. A dealership should honor a motor that has failed. There are however some things that you have to prove if you have not had the car serviced at a dealer. Like you NEED a paper trail of oil changes that show oil changes done at regular intervals (with the correct oil grade). Now this paper NEEDS to be from a buisness (ie. Mazda dealers, Oil changers, Pennzoil, CTC, Walmart etc. etc.) for your best results. Oh and there had better not be any oil leaks from incorrectly serviced oil filters or loose/leaking aftermarket oil plugs

3. Why have you waited this long to ask why your oil light might come on?!?!?!?

This is just my experience...

Ditto. When the light comes on, you are usually missing more than 1 litre. You are usually missing too much.
