View Full Version : Condo Parking ... Issue?
My assigned parking spot is one of two between support pillars in the underground parking garage of my condo.
The ****er who I believe has the spot beside me, is often parking in my assigned spot if he gets back before me.
Last night I wrote a note and left it on his windshield, along the lines of "Please park in your designated spot. We are assigned specific spots for a reason."
I go to my car this afternoon to head out and find he's gone out. My note is not found on the ground anywhere. Okay, cool.
Come back tonight, ****er is parked in my spot again.
I just wrote another note and left it on his windshield; "Please do not park in <this spot number>. It is not assigned to you. Refrain from parking in this spot or management will be contacted."
Am I just getting over my head about this issue?
I can only think of reasoning such as if something happening to the car parked in that spot, and that something is due to building responsibility, then the building owner will have full responsibility to cover damages. However, if the damaged car is parking in a spot NOT designated/assigned, car owner will be SOL.
Input/Feedback please?

but see if something was to happen to that car and he stops parking there. if hes smart he might figure out that its you that did it since hes had 2 notes already for parking there. i would talk to management about it to see if they do something. also maybe get the car towed. or depending on how the parking is made. i would simply park behind him so he cant leave at all. many things u can do i guess but also gotta think about it a bit before you do it

Have building Management assign you a different spot and let them sort it out.
Don't get smart and try to take the matter into your own hands as it could result in damage to your car.

^^ Agreed. I would report it and let building management or security deal with it. If you have a security desk at your condo, they should be able to find the guy quickly (if you're required to register your car with the condo). If his plate isn't registered, they should tow it. That's what they do at my mom's condo (in fact, they actually have parking popo ticket ppl too!).

If we have that problem in our building, usually concierge/security takes care of it. They will either get a ticket or fine the second time. They may even get towed. You have given him enough warning, take it to them or management now! I would be pissed if someone was parking in my space. Whether it was right beside me or not.

Hey Warren, I live in a condo as well and park inbetween 2 cars, one of them being a GL 550, a huge beast to say the least. For awhile everytime I would come home the beast would park over the parking line forcing me to park closer to the second vehicle.
After 3 times it was really starting to piss me off because the closer I parked to the second vehicle the more likely I would be prone to door dings. Not to mention that I would have to do 5 point turns when exiting my space when I was going out.
I complained to management and the issue was taken care of. The GL 550 now parks well within their own space. Hope this helps! :)
Cheers,
Sweet, thanks for the all the feedback guys! I'll just go straight to security if someone is in my spot again.
Gabe, I assume your car did come out safe with no damage from either car?
SonicBoy, as pissed as I was about this relatively small issue, my mind kept thinking what to do to the guy's car but I kept biting my tongue haha

you should complain to management.. they'll take care of it.. if the guy is still parking in your spot then keep on complaining.. worst case is they'll tow the guy's car away.. it's like if somebody was parking in your driveway.. you can have the car towed.. the parking spot is part of your property just like a locker would be (if you own one).. that is, you pay property taxes on both the parking spot and the locker (or so I hear)..
^^ That was the other reasoning; I paid for my freakin spot!!! If not property taxes then for sure the maintenance fees are also paying for my spot to be clean.

It is really hard not to seek revenge but you have to try and believe that the :AH will get his/her's due. Let the system try and work it out first.
just go to security , if they dont care, or cant do anything,
then do to the management office to complain
however, just curious,
ar u the owner there or u rent it ?
i use to live in condo in finch and young area, this f...ing security and managment show now respect to u or what not if i m not the owner,, is F.. up ...
well good luck...

I was thinking you could look at doing the dog-poop on the inside of the door handle - once that driver finds out, they've probably touched the steering wheel, the shifter, seatbelts, etc... :)
But seriously - as everyone else has said - speak with building managment - that why you pay condo fees right.

if nothing works...slash his tires...the sidewall, not the tread.
:D
you paid for the spot man, I wouldn't put up with someone else parking in it even once.
call management or your superintendent. You've been more patient already then I would have been.
LOL funny suggestions, I likeeeeeee.
BUT ... stupid condo management just called me ten minutes ago telling me my parking spot is now changed due to shifts in their records (or whatever). Not due to what recently took place. They said they were aware and yes the other driver is actually parking in the right spot and that I have been parking in the wrong spot for the past few days.
****. I wish I bought at a Daniels-built condo instead. :S

And they hadn't informed you? That is completely unacceptable. I'm sure you don't really care where your parking spot it. They should have just said "hey, can you park in ___ instead?" and it all would have been done. I would have a few words for the management in that case... And probably an apology to the other driver, unfortunately....

holy smokes... what a bunch of retards for not letting you know before.
Take it to whomever is responsible for running that retarded "management"
Wrote an apology note for the other guy and slapped it on his windshield before I headed to work this morning. He better not hold a grudge haha

start putting those "you parked in the wrong spot" notes on other people's windshields pretending that you are that guy who parked in your spot.
Hmm, i still have a few YouParkLikeAnA$$hole (http://www.youparklikean*******.com) print-outs :)

I hope you explained in your note that it was managements fault you were accusing them of parking in your spot...
