hey guys,
I konw this is kinda late, BUT!. I finally got around to calling mazda to have my door plate, tranny oil pipe, and ( i thought) my shock sensor doubt with.
but. apparently mazda is not offering the Shock Sensor for free under the recall anymore, as of MARCH of 08'
Is this true? or should i be looking for another dealership that does do it? does anyone know of a dealership that will do the shock sensor as a recall?
i woudl appreciate any help guys. thanks!

Call another dealer or better yet call me. You just won't get the $100 rebate if you purchased an aftermarket alarm. The rest should be covered as long as you have a GT and your VIN matches those affected.

I think what he means is if you purchased an after market alarm before March 2008 they would give you a rebate on the shock sensor, but since its after March 08 you can't get that.
But if you don't have an after market sensor you can get an oem one via the recall.
I could be way off base but thats how I read his post.

You are off... :)
Before, if you bought and aftermarket alarm you would have got a $100 cash rebate if submitted before the March 2008 deadline. He's probably not eligible for this as it's past the deadline. As for the shock sensor, they will probably still cover the cost for the parts and labour of the OEM shock sensor install which was part of the door plate recall. Joe will help him out.

Contact FLIPDADY (Joe), he will help you out with the shock sensor if he can, "IF" you are eligible for the recall.

MOT - Mazda of Toronto. Joe (FLIPDADY here on TM3) works in parts and hooks all of us up. MOT was doing the install long after the March deadline. Other dealers were just scamming their customers. Stay away from both of those Mazda dealers btw.
Joe gave you a phone number to call in the second post. :)

....i usually bring my car to againcourt for my service because thats where i bought my car. and tory at the service desk seemed nice enough...
i actually made an appointment to have my door plate, and tranny oil pipe addressed TOMORROW!
should i be alarmed enough to cancel my appointment? i personally havnt had too much of a problem with againcourt so far...mind you i only had one service done so far....

I would call Joe at MOT and see if they can get you the shock sensor. If they can thern I would just go up there. Use that to your advantage if you have to cancel your appointment, unless they can do the parts/install for free like MOT. :)

as a recall shouldnt all of the parts and service be free?

The shock sensor wasn't part of the recall, it was issued sort of as something to make up for the lack of security till the door plate was installed. They really don't HAVE to give it to you if they don't want to, but some dealers honor it.

They will either make you pay for the shock sensor + install or they won't and it will be free. It's their call at this point. MOT will probably do it for free.
The door plate recall and the oil pipe recall, which are 2 different recalls are covered 100% by Mazda.
Just call Joe! lol

The rebate was garbage... The letter came in February, and the rebate was only good for 1 week. Slow mail, or more bullshit from Mazda? :)

My recall went pretty good. I got it done in like April. Did not have to pay anything.
