Veritas Backup Exec
Version 10.0

I have some scheduled jobs (full & differential backups). In it, I have selected the servers and folders to backup. I have since removed some servers from the network (retired) but Veritas still tries to back them up. OK fine, so I go to edit the job and remove those servers from the selection but the server is no longer listed because the list only shows active servers. So there's no way to "uncheck" those servers to tell veritas not to back it up because Veritas no longer sees those server yet it still tries to back it up. It's not a huge problem but my job history always shows as failed because of this and I just want to clean it up.

Anyone know a way to fix (without having to create a new job - and yes, from now on I remove the server from Veritas before taking the server offline).

I know that Vertias keeps all of its stuff on the local SQL server but I'd rather not muck around with it yet.

Thanks!

I don't know the answer to this as I've never used Veritas but I'm just throwing out an idea here. Maybe there is an option to (A) backup all servers or (B) only active servers (yes, I know it sounds stupid, but hey what kind of software backs up non-active servers).

I had a similar problem the other week with ArcServe...

we decided to just recreate the job...i don't really know if there's another option

are you getting any error messages? if so what?

Go to the job setup page and select the job. Go to selection settings. On the top right you will see view settings and it most likely will be set to graphical. Click on the Text view. Select the "\\old server names" and select delete
