There is a new date added to the schedule September 7th.http://cscs.ca/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/
It was great to see so many Speed 3's turn out at the last round. How about we get some Mazda 3's to go in the street fwd class and beat some of those civics, and lets get more speed3's in the ssfwd class! Here is a lot of notice time to get prepared.

we could set up our own Mazda area in the paddock and make all the civic's cry
and show the Evo's what a car is supposed to look like at the track, not just the posers in the show & shine area
then we could all steal setups from one another:chuckle
I could show everybody a real good line to destroy your tires (what you're not supposed to cut the corner and drive over the curb....hmmm....)

here you go. its very fun and expensive!
I'm definately out for this one, have other financial priorities this year.
the cost so far for me
$90 in gas, I used about $60 at the track (I went lightly I didn't lap all that much). The car uses a whole tank of gas in, I'm guessing under 2 hours of lapping.
$20 brake fluid. Im replacing them with the ford dot3 stuff... which I still haven't done.
$140 to run.
brake pads $70 - 30% life. A new set of hawk HPS is almost $200~ so about $70 in pads I used.
rotors $70 - used 30% of its life
tires $230- used 30% life/ assuming $700/set
oil change $25- If I track my car taht oftne i'd change its oil every other track day
$645 so far
+ food & time lost spending at the track instead of working. I Haven't even add up the other damage I could have possibly done to the car..
But whatever I expected the car to break driving it at the limit :D

The saying goes "you have to pay to play." I was complaining about gas mileage on the track and my friend said "you have to feed the horses!" I guess that I be satisfied that I get similar gas mileage on the street to regular Mazda 3's.
I really enjoy this CSCS series and it is $120 if you preregister with a tonne of track time and fairly close to the city.

should be able to sneak away.
I'm leaving on vacation on the next Saturday, sooo...... money's a little tight, considering I probably need brakes, tires (yes, because of the squirrels:flaming)
ah, the heck with it, isn't that what credit cards are for!

That's the right link...it's just a PP link...they'll put your name on...also, this is what it reads:
"CSCS Xtreme Tuner Challenge (Open Lapping & Time Attack) - Added due to raintout Aug. 9"

I got confused when it said
"CSCS Xtreme Tuner Challenge (Open Lapping & Time Attack) - Added due to raintout Aug. 9
Saturday August 9 2008 @ Toronto Motorsports Park, Cayuga "
I'll need to call MOT tomorrow to deal with the transmission thing =(

there isn't much track time and Cayuga has a load of straights.
I think I'm going to pick another event to go to
for those interested, map of Cayuga (I've no idea which layout they are running)

I have not heard anyone complain that there is not enough track time, beleive me there is ample. The configuration is the outside layout, that map does not do it justice it is not that straight. The track is not that big, there is not too many straights, the brakes need time to cool. Try it first before you make a judgement. It is somewhat similar to the Shannonville Fabi track layout, just a little bigger.
