I've been wondering what the BMW 1 tii concept colour scheme would look like on a speed 3 (or any 3 for that matter), the Bimmer has a CF hood - was thinking either CF look or matt black to match roof stripes. What do you think? Pat, any ideas on cost?

Hmmm.... If you go the CF route cost will probably be quite high. You may want to try vinyl first to see if you like it, then go the CF route if you're quite sure.

the trunk looks kinda CF as well. But Basically it a stripe from front to back in 2 colors...the speed has more curves that may make this look bad but let me see what photoshop can do. Anyone has a good angled pic on a white speed?

all you guys fantasizing about having black mica.... should've just gotten that in the first place instead of covering your car up bits at a time :chuckle

Sure is different. Who cares what other people think. If you like it, go for it.

Not too sure. Looks a bit weird at first...but it could grow on me. I think it works on the BMW better because the black of the hood goes right up to the windshield and frames it nicely. In your picture, it doesn't quite match up and that little bit of difference is throwing me off...
I like the part on the roof. Just the shape of the hood makes it a bit different. Otherwise, interesting idea.

I kind of like it, has some promise with cleaner lines! you might want to think of just putting the two black lines down the whole car instead of changing the whole colour scheme of your hood
I like the look but I don't think it fits so well with your rims. Kinda doesn't looks right with the lines you've got going on your car.

I agree, maybe would be better with white or black rims (like the one POGI is selling!).
Back to the drawing board I guess!!!

Maybe I'm getting too old, but I don't like the look at all on the BMW and even less on your car Mitch.
The clean white looks good as is. Some minor exterior mods might be a nice addition, but not black stripes.
Just giving you my honest 2 cents.
Then again, I am old. LOL :whoa

How old are you??
I'm 37 - not old, but definitely "senior" compared to many members!
Sometimes simple is better - I think I will stick with the understated look and continue to work on engine mods! There's something to be said for the sleeper look - which was one of the main attractions to the car in the first place. :)

Not too much older than you Mitch. I turned 38 in July.
I know it's not old and I certainly don't feel old, but the average age of some of the folks here in the forum makes me feel fairly "senior"...
There is a lot to be said for the sleeper look. Definately a huge attraction with this car.

Do it.. but maybe add a small, thin stripe on each of the outer edges of the hood, and only the hood.. then it's sportin'.. there is just a little too much black on the outsides..
