View Full Version : chipped rear left handle. :(

I was at the warden and steeles T&T plaza.. and then came back to find my door handle chipped.. down the the metal with no paint and clear coat left, whats the best way to try to cover that up? i know people have suggested the touch up paint,, but it'll look wierd. any suggestions?

If the touch up is done well it will look okay. But since it is a separate piece you could just repaint it.

As it happened, I was looking up paint repair tonight....

i had a chip on my door handle it mine was plastic. It's white/plastic looking when it was chipped. i just used touchup paint.

i think mines metal, its steel gray underneath ts a 2.3 mazda 3 2008.5... how much are chrome handles and are they worth it?

I believe the chrome handles are plated. Chrome itself is quite heavy and would result in a higher cost to manufacture, so companies just plate the surface instead.
The gray colour you're seeing is probably either primer, or the actual plastic material used to make the handle.
