It's about right. It's only $488 at MOT with the TM3 discount. Or are you at MOT...lol?

I would have it installed elsewhere and not at the dealership. They will charge too much $$$.

taxes in for just exhaust or exhaust + install?

at MoT, if they sell for 488, then taxes in is $551.44

So im thinking $565 is for just exhaust?

Install elsewhere should cost between $60-80

thats looks like a good deal to me :D

If the mazdaspeed exhaust is the one you want then thats a good deal. You get brand new and are paying $15 for install from a dealer? ON TOP OF THAT, you get it warrenty on it because a mazda tech is installing it.

I say, GO FOR IT :D

Seems to be a issue with the exhaust:

A pure performance exhaust would be the vibrant system. Largest diameter, plus a better flowing muffler. It's loud unfortunately but that's because of the increased flow. The plus is that it's the best quality, downside is its the highest cost.

Performance

1. Vibrant
2. HKS Hi-Power
3. Magnaflow = Borla = Mazdaspeed (these 3 are rougly the same)

Sound (Loudest to softest)

1. Vibrant
2. Mazdaspeed
3. Borla
4. Magnaflow
5. HKS Hi Power

Price (Highest to lowest)

1. HKS Hi Power
2. Vibrant
3. Mazdaspeed
4. Magnaflow
5. Borla

Quality

1. Vibrant
2. HKS
3. Magnaflow
4. Borla
5. Mazdaspeed.

If you really want one take your time to find a used one. I got one that had only been used for 7000km for $125. It sounds and works the same as the one you'll pay $500 for.

thats a fire-sale price ...

I went from a vibrant exhaust to a Mazda Speed accessory one , no regrets here.

Mine's gone through about 20 - 30 000 Kms.

The problem is that the piping is different material than the resonator. The resonator is a VERY THIN walled canester made of stainless where as the piping is regular steel. The combination means that welding will eventually crack. It inevitable.

Ughh.. I guess I will fall victim to the re-welding business.

Unfortunately, sooner or later. Its an easy and cheap fix but it shouldn't have to be done on a factory accessory part.

I need a little clarifying please, is there a difference between the exhaust on a MazdaSpeed 3 and the exhaust that is on the Mazda Accessory brochure? Whats the difference if any?

phoenix_bladen

there is a difference i think the mazdaspeed 3 from the mazdaspeed 3 is more fit to work for the speed 3

but the mazdaspeed accessory was optimized specifically for the mazda 3 regular car

since the speed 3 and the regular 3 have different engines and one has turbo and one does not

they have to configurate it better to fit each needs

so i would say go for mazdaspeed one for the regular car

and also i think the speed 3 will only fit on the hatch anyways if you want it ot fit on the sedan you need to extend it ... i would sya too much work you just get the mazdaspeed one .. fits your car better

but just watch out cause i heard the mazdaspeed one is not good quality and i have one now so i'm scared!

no it's not that loud it sounds very OEM actually so you should not be afraid at all

and plus it's a OEM part covered by warranty

if the cops pull you over you can show them proof that mazda sells this definitely shouldn't get in trouble.

you only seriously hear it above 3000 RPM

if you just do normal driving and cruise at 5th gear in city you don't even hear it at all.

so definitely not loud but get used to a lil droning on the hwy cause you usually have to drive around 120 which is when even at 5th gear it is above 3000 RPM

but usually i just blast music anyways

i think the mazdaspeed one is the best sounding one and the least loud.

;)

cheers.

But what about performance wise? Does the mazdaspeed give the same or similar numbers as others?
