RENTAL? Someone tell me what happens in this situation please!?
SpeedBaby
09-27-2008, 04:08 PM
in this situation you pay for the tow of the car, the inpound fees, the rental fees for 1 week (loss of use), pray that you were smart enough to take insurance on your rental that would cover the repair/write-off costs, file your ticket to court and if you get convicted, pay the $2000+ fine.... that's pretty much all

seriously even if you did take insurance you're screwed out of a minimum of $8000 before any tickets, lawyer costs...

small correction: if that lambo was the one from GTA Exotic, then it's $1900/day + $200 insurance, which brings just your loss of use cost to a min of $14700

For a car of this caliber, Don't they make it manditory to buy accident/theft insurance? I mean, if your here renting the frigging thing, it only means you don't want to fork over or don't have the $400,000 or so to buy the car. If this was the case and the insurance is optional, then it's pretty dumb on the drivers part for not getting it and really dumb on the rental company for not making it manditory. Wondering if the ferrari he was racing was a rental too.
