is this story recent? is the kid 5 years old right now or much older?

It says it was published 12 months ago, so the boy has got to be 6 years old now. I just came across it not too long ago, but was out of a computer for a few days..

I'm glad everyone was touched one way or another.. it really makes you think about how fortunate we are, and how kids truly are amazing..

But it really does hurt to see these young kids being hit with such handicaps and rare diseases.
